Absolutely I completely agree MB. I’m just saying with all the rumors going around I could see that being a possibility. Personally I’d like to keep him. If we could get that deal done with Philly it would be a dream come true. I’d love to have Mualuaga. But I’d rather take Hakeem Nicks with the other instead of a center.

but…

I think it might be a good idea to keep Pigpen. He would be an awesome proven #2 QB. He plays in a similar style to Cassel. And as seasons go…Brady/Pollard…a solid backup QB can be a real necessity for a playoff level team.

I’d try to get Philly’s 2 late 1st rounders for our #3, and draft 1 of the 3 USC linebackers (Maualauga, Cushing, Matthews) and the center from California (Alex Mack). We get 4 instant starters with the first 2 picks.

Master Blaster I like where your head is. If we pick up Canty or a number of quality players on D I could actually see us doing that. One thing I’m keeping an eye on is Tampa Bay bringing in Cooper Carlisle. They have a ton of quality interior linemen so why would they do this? Maybe b/c they want Thigpen? They bring in Carlisle and trade a mid to late rounder and or an interior linemen for Thigpen. Just a thought.

I dont think we are close to being done. Maybe we do talk to R. Lewis or Canty or Housh. How sick would this be… DL: Canty, Dorsey, ?, Hali. LB: DJ, Curry, R. Lewis/Mike Peterson, Vrabel. DB: Flowers, Carr, Leggett, Page, Pollard.

Crabtree with the #3 only if we shore up the D first.

It’s a bit ironic we ended up with Cassel after one of our players, Pollard, knocked Brady out last season and gave Cassel the chance to finally play.

Good day chief addicts. Just a thought on giving up only a 2nd rounder for Cassel. Pats are all about #’s
I haven’t seen where they sit in this draft, but hear me out. They will have late 1st round, early 2nd round and late 2nd. That should yield some very solid picks. Pats are looking for youth. They don’t like to pay first round money. I think they did ok. The pressure is on us. Is the incoming qb a one year wonder, or a legitimate contender. The good news is he will be taught by a qb guru. I like the trade. I like the attitude. Tony G are you ready.

Im just spitballing here…but what if we took crabtree in the draft now?

I mean im all for the Curry deal and/or trade down for Maliuluga and a 2nd.

but…

Cassel throwing to Crabtree, Bowe, Bradley, Tony G.

It opens up some interesting possibilites

It would kinda turn us into a mini Patriots/Cardinals offense that spreads that defense.

And if we keep LJ and the rest of the running backs…

thunder and lighthing you know?
