DD - good supporting position. I tend to agree with you on almost every point. 2 considerations: 1. i don't think tank tyler can handle the NT position in the 3-4 scheme and 2. i don't believe Romeo is in play.

So far the only rumor to live itself out is Haley and thats because we were all waiting for the Super Bowl to be over before he could be interviewed. I think Pioli is using rumor control to his advantage and this is going to become the new culture. I don't like it, but it is what it is....

Here's the thing that's bugging me most about whether the Chiefs have yet to hire a DC - if that's the case, then what exactly are they planning to do with Gibbs and Pendergast? If you're going to make one of them your LB coach, what are you supposed to with the other? Are we going to have 2 LB coaches? See, this is what leads me to think that one of them is slated to be the new DC no matter how disturbing the prospect of that may seem to the rest of us.

Scott Wright (Draft Countdown):
"Most scouts feel you are capable of playing inside or outside in either a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive scheme. What are your thoughts on that and where do you think you'd be most comfortable?"

Aaron Curry:
"No matter where I am placed in a system I will maximize my potential and continue to make big plays. My college coach Brad Lambert made sure I was able to take on and shed blocks like an inside 3-4 linebacker and also taught me to be very strong at the point of attack as a Sam in the 4-3."

I'd say from that response, Curry pretty much views himself best-suited as an ILB (Mike or Will) in 3-4 scheme and as a OLB (Sam) in a 4-3 scheme.
