Franchise quarterback, franchise quarterback... I keep reading those two words. What exactly is a franchise quarterback? Do you need one to make the Super Bowl? Are Rex Grossman, Matt Hasselbeck, Jake Delhomme, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer, and Kerry Kollins franchise quarterbacks? They took their teams to the Super Bowl and in Dilfer and Johnson's cases, won the Super Bowl. How many of these "franchise quarterbacks" were drafted in the first round by the team they took to the big dance?

Yes, 447...if ANYONE knows how hard it is to find a franchise QB it is us Chiefs fans...

But that is just it...there is absolutely nothing to suggest that Sanchez is that man...The only reason HE even decided to come out is because he saw how he stacked up against this years joke of a QB class...He is cashing in, he knows in a decent year he has no business being anywhere near the first round.

I do agree the Crabtree pick is completely foolish and with Pioli there is pretty much no chance it will happen...cuz he knows how to build a team...so dont worry...

You know, I have a pretty good arm. I could almost definitely play both positions at the same time.

Does anybody understand how difficult it is to find a franchise qb? If we were actually able to stablize that postion, we could add and remove linemen, corners, receivers, or any position as long as we have a QB. I'm not saying he's the second coming of Tom Brady, but dammit, we've got to give him (and ourselves) a chance. I wasn't even alive the last time we drafted a QB in the first round. We must draft and develop our own QB. You want an identity? Pioli, with a new coach, and a new QB would give you an identity. Stop kidding yourselves with this Crabtree pick. It's nonsense.
