I agree. Herm was being juiced of information.

I actually like that Pioli is taking his time. It sucks for us info starved rabid fans, but so what.

As a team you do not want to show your hand. For instance, if you want so and so as a coach, and he turns you down, then everyone knows that the new head coach wasn't your first choice.

With Pioli's style, we will never know if he was the first choice, and that is good for the credibility and morale of the team, the coaches, the fans, the owners and everyone. Hush Hush!

When Pioli announces the new coach, he will most assuredly say that this was the guy all along. We will never know, and that is the way it should be.

(We all know that the browns, seahawks, and others all wanted Pioli, and did not get him, how does that affect the GMs over there? hmmm..?)

Go Pioli.

By the way, maybe I am biased, but do you ever notice that the national media just doesn't give the chiefs any play, i.e. Peter King. Pisses me off.

I know Whitlock is not liked/respected very much around these parts but he did have an interesting take on why it might have taken Pioli so long to make a decision. You can go over to the Star to read it but basically he kept him around this long for two reasons:

- To live up to his promise to Clark Hunt by taking a good long look at Herm as head coach.
- To get as much information from Herm as he could about the team.

If he did both of those things in the 10 days since he got to KC then I think he made the right decision in taking his time. I don't think that will dissuade other HC candidates.

I have to admit it would take a while to get comfortable looking at Shanahan on the Chiefs sideline,,,, but they say winning cures all..... even so it would be tough.... Shanahan yukk!!!! I was split on the Herm issue, so that being said the man is a NFL coach making millions, I would think that a fan has the right to be 100% so good by Herm and hello to the new, better, greater, stronger, faster, winning, feared by all Kansas City Chiefs....

What was he doing all that while? Having his brain removed and examined I would imagine.

One thing that about the long delay in letting Herm that concerns a little is how this might be perceived around the league and especially by future coaching candidates. Seeing as how Pioli left Herm twisting in the wind for so long while other coaches were out finding jobs might cause some to think twice about the prospect of coaching for KC - as in "might I someday be treated the same way?"
