Sarge - You're right, Johnson played a great game against Bama, the Utes went undefeated, and earned every bit of their #2 AP final ranking with him under center. Fair or not though, he's still considered a sleeper on most people's boards. I still like Sanchez as the better of the two but who knows, maybe Johnson will continue to surprise at the next level. Something to think about. Good post.

Didn't anybody watch the Sugar Bowl? The QB for the Utes has some great skills. They ran over Alabama (who were No. 1 for several weeks) in the first half and cruised to an easy win. A win over an SEC powerhouse, in SEC country, with a pro-SEC media. Johnson played smart, read the D well, and plain picked apart 'Bama. I'm keeping an eye on him, he should be going places.

Granted, USC practically runs a pro type offense (and probably could have beaten the Chiefs this year) and attracts tons of talent. The coaching staff is top notch and is sought after for other jobs almost every year.

My point is that just because a player is from the Mountain West, doesn't automatically rule him out as a top quality player.

Adam - I completely agree with you on Sanchez. He's got it and he should be the guy we target - albeit next year (for the moment, that's what I'm assuming). Bradford is not ready for the pros - he needs to stay @ OU one more year (and then transfer to KU for his senior year - ha!).

Go read my new Crabtree post, fellas. I've only just begun, and I'm bringing the heavy ammo in every post.

I'd also rather us wait or trade down and pick a QB. The guy I actually really like is Mark Sanchez. I believe he has the most potential out of the QBs. You will hear me talk about this kid a lot of he declares. He has that special leader quality that I believe both Bradford and Stafford lack. Love his fire and the way he plays.
