Sarge - You're right, Johnson played a great game against Bama, the Utes went undefeated, and earned every bit of their #2 AP final ranking with him under center. Fair or not though, he's still considered a sleeper on most people's boards. I still like Sanchez as the better of the two but who knows, maybe Johnson will continue to surprise at the next level. Something to think about. Good post.

Didn't anybody watch the Sugar Bowl? The QB for the Utes has some great skills. They ran over Alabama (who were No. 1 for several weeks) in the first half and cruised to an easy win. A win over an SEC powerhouse, in SEC country, with a pro-SEC media. Johnson played smart, read the D well, and plain picked apart 'Bama. I'm keeping an eye on him, he should be going places.

Granted, USC practically runs a pro type offense (and probably could have beaten the Chiefs this year) and attracts tons of talent. The coaching staff is top notch and is sought after for other jobs almost every year.

My point is that just because a player is from the Mountain West, doesn't automatically rule him out as a top quality player.

Adam - I completely agree with you on Sanchez. He's got it and he should be the guy we target - albeit next year (for the moment, that's what I'm assuming). Bradford is not ready for the pros - he needs to stay @ OU one more year (and then transfer to KU for his senior year - ha!).

Go read my new Crabtree post, fellas. I've only just begun, and I'm bringing the heavy ammo in every post.

I'd also rather us wait or trade down and pick a QB. The guy I actually really like is Mark Sanchez. I believe he has the most potential out of the QBs. You will hear me talk about this kid a lot of he declares. He has that special leader quality that I believe both Bradford and Stafford lack. Love his fire and the way he plays.

I vote "nay" to both McNabb and Crabtree. We've been through the whole "veteran" quarterback thing, remember the last 20 years? And a WR isn't really our top need come this April. Sorry Adam.

Please stay off the Crabtree thing unless we pick up defensive players in the FA. I cant say I agree with you on Crabtree at three.

McNabb isn't in his prime. His prime was a few years ago. Not wanting to have McNabb doesn't mean I want Thigpen. I am not a scout of a living so I'll leave the decision about whether or not Bradford or Stafford are the answer up to them. However, I read many things last year about how Matt Ryan wasn't the answer and he turned out to be the answer. If the scouts for the Chiefs decide that one or both of them are the real deal and worth the risk and one is there at three, we have to take him.

People are serious about going into next season with Tyler Thigpen as our only option (he's won one game), and I get flak for suggesting that the Chiefs might be smart for going after a QB in his prime who has taken a team to the Conference championship or further a handful of times? I don't get it. People can hate on McNabb, but he's a winner.

Nothing wrong with vets as long as they're not washed-up.

My first choice is Cassel (via trade), but McNabb would be a good option. Bradford and Stafford are not the answer, especially Bradford. Thiggy just didn't do enough to earn the job either.

I hope you aren't serious about McNabb!!!!

I thought we got rid of Carl Peterson, so we wouldn't have to worry about bringing in "veteran" quarterbacks anymore.

No more talk about mcflabb... i live right outside of philly and he isnt a good qb. he has his moments where he gets the job done but honestly i cant stand him that might be because i cant stand the eagles and the fans and the media around here. no mcnabb
