We actually traded JA for Vikes 1st round and 2 3rd round picks. He could have been a free agent but Carl threw the franchise tag on him.

No MB he was traded - remember the picks we got (with which we took Brandon Albert, Jamaal Charles, etc) ?

Wasn't JA a free agent last year?

I'm not a 100% sure, but I don't think you can get a compensatory pick for a player that was traded away. Only free agents.

By Compensatory Pick I mean those 3rd 4th and 5th round picks they mysteriously hand out for losses the prior season. Our losses last season are Jared Allen and a few others we let loose that im too lazy to look up right now. Im hoping we get a compensatory 3rd round pick for what we lost or traded last season. Might be wishful thinking but I would love another 3rd rounder.

Also, after DE and MLB we have OLB C rOG rOT to fill. And according to others a few other positions that could stand improvement. So lots more holes to fill.

This is the scenerio I would love to come to K.C. First off in free-agency we go for 2 studs on D and 1 on the o line. Karlos Dansby to fill the MLB role, and Terrel Suggs to take care of the pass rushing problems.(What is also nice about suggs he plays well in coverage) THen pick up JOrdon Gross to take care of the RT position. Then first round we take Aaron Curry, Second round we take a SS or Another LB( we need depth at that position bigtime) ALso The "Bone-smoker" Pollard has got to go!!! We could also mix in a OL in there for depth there as well.

Anybody in or around Cameron Missouri? I was on my way down to Texas and my alternator went out so now Im stuck at a Days Inn in Cameron Missouri on Christmas. I just need to either find a parts store that is open or a salvage yard that will let me come out and pull my own part. Man this Christmas is GGGGrRRREEEAAAtTTT.

We need another plug up the middle. Our run defense is TERRIBLE we also need a LB or a safety who can cover a hybrid tight end. Everyone on the Chiefs should be able to because we get enough practice covering Tony G. I mean come on tight ends and the run are our downfall on D right now. If we can find an end who can stop the run then take him.

haha nice so matt cassel huh? im thinking tom brady to lead this team. assuming new england goes through with their normal general managing they will be letting brady go, seeing that belichick and kraft dont like keeping players over 30.. they could more than likely stick with youth and keep cassel and trade brady coaching is what i want for christmas more than a player. im thinking bill cowher and hell lets put marty as our general manager! merry christmas chiefs fans! u to herm and... Who would we get compensatory picks for? If we were able to fill RDE and MLB in free agency/first round of the draft we have to decide between OL and OLB when round two came around.

Young I don't see a reason we couldn't get Suggs and Maualuga. Curry is a stretch. But, it is entirely likely we could get cushings or another top OLB having the second or third pick in the 2nd.

The real question marks are

Will we have a trade down partner for crabtree when/if he declares?

What are we going to do with Johnson/Gonzo?

If we trade them, has their performance this season, earned us a low 1st or 2nd round pick?

What kinda compensatory pick are we going to get?

The good news is that Clark said he would be highly active in free agency. I think that makes Suggs highly probable. I think Suggs over Peppers. We should spend some money, but lets not break the bank.

Master if we can get Suggs, Maualuga & Curry I'll have to start believing in Santa again lol

Not at all sold on Demorrio (and D.J. might be better in the middle?) and Cassel-Thiggy would take care of the most crucial position.

Bowe had 3 catches, darling had three catches, bradley i believe had four, charles had a couple. So technically he is already spreading the ball around to other receivers..Much more so than any qb we have had since trent green..In fact I think Thigpen may even spread the ball more actually.Thigpen to me seems to only get better actually..Since we began the spread he hasn't had a bad game..If he throws a couple int's he also will throw a couple td's..Sounds like brett favre to me..

I like thigpen and hope when a new coach comes in they keep the spread but i guess we'll see..and yes a lb or de needs to be both addressed in the first two rounds of the draft.
