Big Sexy Weighs In On King Carl’s End Of Days

Everyone’s favorite columnist Big Sexy a.k.a Jason Whitlock, is at it again.

Here’s his take in the KC Star on the firing resignation of “King” Carl Peterson.

The piece was surprisingly short considering Whitlock has been leading the “Fire King Carl” parade float every year for about the last decade. Jabba must have been out drinking some Courvoisier, reveling in Clark Hunt’s latest move. I’m wondering if he is going to be able to set aside the race card (yeah right) and keep the band playing for Herm’s firing as well?

Here’s an excerpt:

Of course, Hunt stated that Sunday’s 73-second collapse and surrender of a double-digit lead had nothing to do with Carl Peterson’s “resignation.” Yeah, and my affinity for Gates barbecue has nothing to do with the belt of flab wrapped around my waist.

At least he is honest.

There’s also a funny anecdote in the column about Carl not eating Whitlock’s mother’s cooking at her annual Christmas party that is good for a laugh. Aside from that, a disappointing, short and frankly, lazy piece from J-Dub considering how much ink he has used trying to get the events of yesterday to actually happen. I expected more meat from Whitlock about Carl waving the white flag than a Gates BBQ shout out.

What do you think of Whitlock’s send up of King Carl, Addicts?

            BallHype: hype it up!

I think he see’s the end for Herm as well. Maybe its not working out like he wanted.

He finally did mention Herm on Sunday, but who knows. He has been amazingly slow to pull the trigger on that one.

I wasn’t a big fan of the article. I liked the anecdote about his mother, but everything else felt kind of rushed and stale. Then again, he’s probably shellshocked. And that title has become my least favorite title. Ugh. Please nobody (staff) ever use it here.

you mean this post headline? Or something else…sorry I’m a little retarded from reading Whitlock.

  4. 4. Adam Best Says:

I mean his. “The Good, the Bad and __________.” Hate it.

Unless it’s riffing on it with something like “the Fugly.” Just a stale start to a stale piece. Then again, our expectations were probably so damn high…

Yeah, the whole thing was just slapped together. L-A-Z-Y

The Good the Bad and the Whitlock.

KC Sports fans deserve so much more than Whitlock, really its sad. Its either race-baiting to stir up needless controversy or PollyAnna Ponanski who obviously prefers writing baseball- but I do think JoPo is a good writer. Whitlock might make people think, but he makes more people angry when its really not necessary.

The new AFC West soundoff is: Should Edwards be fired?

Adam I think he may have been hit by the brick titled “What am I going to write about now?”

I feel like Ive been eating the same sandwich every day since August and it has no mayonaise. Suddenly someone puts mayo on it and its like “Hmm same sandwich but it tastes so much better now”.

Obviously, Whitlock was surprised at the firing/resignation, that his why his article was so deficient.

My only question to my Chiefs Bretheren is: Where now? How now? What Now?

A new coach will probably scrap the Arrowspread Offense, Tyler Thigpen goes back to being a number two?

Is ther any candiate that we really must have?

Is Pioli overrated? Besides, Brady (lucky draft pick) Who has Pioli drafted who was been a stud?

I think the only thing that will get me excited is Schottenheimer as our GM and Cower as our Coach. Marty has already said he would love to work with his good friend Cower. What do you think?

  10. 10. Adam Best Says:

Pioli has drafted Brady, Merriweather, Mayo, Seymour, Cassel, Ty Warren, Wilfork, Watson, Logan Mankins, Dan Koppen, Matt Light, etc.

He found Stephen Neal and has acquired players like Sammy Morris and Wes Welker (both just recently).

More like who hasn’t he drafted that’s been a stud.

    He. Is. Our. Guy.

Being married to Parcells daughter cant hurt either :-)

I’m worried for J-Dub!!! A future without Carl doesn’t bode well for Whitlock. You can liken his writing to the likes of Guiliani’s banter when running for president… a noun, a verb, and an insult for Carl Peterson. I wish I had the unconscionable ability to criticize the worst attributes of one’s character and then the gall to call myself a journalist. I’m not saying Jason doesn’t have skills, he just hasn’t challenged himself. Much like his physical attributes, his writing has grown sloppy and lazy. Strike that, maybe I could be a journalist!
