I’m fine. As long as we don’t pick Matt Stafford, that is. Having the AFC version of Boldin-Fitz would have been nice, though. That’s one way to make sure a QB succeeds. Just look at old man Warner.
December 6th, 2008 at 2:11 pmI wouldn’t say this is 100% yet. If Leitch leaves or he could still change his mind. So yes he said that, but people have changed their mind before.
I still think drafting Andre Smith would make our OL one of the best for years and years to come.
December 6th, 2008 at 7:34 pmAndre Smith could be gone. I expect Detroit to take a QB and then Cincy probably to go OT to protect Carson and get that running game going.
But, yes, I love the idea of Andre and Albert anchoring the left side of the line.
December 6th, 2008 at 7:57 pmAdam:
I agree with your projection. Drafting in the top 10, we need to get an impact player. I would like a RDE or MLB in the first round, then come back for a OL (like Alex Mack, for example) in round 2.
December 6th, 2008 at 8:47 pmI would love Andre Smith, but you’re right about him probably being gone. I would rather us win a few more games than crap out the rest of the season and be higher in the draft. I was impressed with Rey Maualuga today in the USC v UCLA game. I’d love to see him blowing up RB’s next season for us.
Plus, he wears 58
December 6th, 2008 at 10:26 pmWell…Crabtree would have been great trade-down bait. So hmmm.
I still don’t understand the lusting over Andre Smith. The only part of our O-Line that is working is the Left frickin side. Don’t mess with it. We have FAR more need elsewhere. I think Waters has a few more years left in him.
Merlin and I are on the same page. Say Malegula in the 1st and Mack in the 2nd.
I don’t think I would have a problem with Malegula wearing DT’s Jersey.
