I have never been a fire Gunther type of guy…but there is too much that has gone wrong for something to not be done on that side of the ball….I am watching NY/AZ right now…marveling at two defenses that arent perfect by any means but they KNOW HOW TO FU#@ING TACKLE…I do not understand what is wrong with our team for the past 10 yrs that they do not know how to tackle and pretty much the only common denominator (minus like, two years) is Gunther…he has to go…
November 23rd, 2008 at 4:56 pmThe offense puts up 31 and we still lose by 23. Not sure if we need to let Gunther go, but we may want to fire the physical trainer. Can we keep anybody healthy?
November 23rd, 2008 at 5:11 pmi wanna know if anyone thinks the spread/wildcat/pistol offense will hold up or should we biuld and bulk up the o-line and bring in new GM,HC,DC and sign a quaterback or trade and draft one and get back to a pro style play action nfl offense?
November 23rd, 2008 at 5:49 pmI don’t mind the spread. The ultimate goal is to score. We have been actually putting points on the board as of late. I would like to see more running out of that formation, but I have no problem staying in this type of O.
November 23rd, 2008 at 6:37 pmI would fire the entire staff at Arrowhead. I think Clark should consider firing himself too.
November 23rd, 2008 at 7:08 pmI wonder if Rockhurst High School could out score the current Chiefs defense? Nothing changes until the faces do. We’ve just been changing them from the wrong end. We should start from the top down. We can’t draft, we can’t pick up good free agents, anybody that is good we trade, and anybody else left hanging around gets the b’jesus knocked out of them and off to the IR list, or want to go somewhere else, anywhere else, just away before they get the b’jesus knocked out of them.
November 23rd, 2008 at 7:49 pmThe Bills are a mediocre team at best and they gave us the beat down. This is a real indicator of how truly sorrowful our Chiefs have become. Are you tired of it yet? Are you willing to continue to spend your dollars to pay for an ongoing trainwreck?
An utter and total embarrassment. We out gained the Bills in total yards and got spanked by more than 3 touchdows. It’s like losing a game having gotten 4 turnovers. Are we trying for the overall number 1 pick in the draft? Is there a team we could beat? Harm’s “defensively we did some things early” BS is so weak. Of course they kept coming offensively, they are a professional football team. Saying “we didn’t play our game” or “it’s just one game” or “we gotta get away from those turnovers” is obvious. Duh! I mean DUH! You’re damn right we can’t give them a short field. Can you tell us anything less obvious? To play smart they have to be coached smart. It doesn’t happen by accident. It’s not like oops, I slipped and fell into a win. It seems that all of this gets blamed on the players. Yes they will learn, but what are they being taught? 21 take aways, and only 6 sacks and a 1-10 record are telling stats.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:03 pmMcNaab is done in Philly, I think with all our weapons on offense, he could be the right guy to run the spread with Thiggy Smalls as the backup…we could also sign Vick for 3rd string and bring him along, maybe play him as a slot receiver too.
What do you guys think?
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:03 pmBut how much would McNabb have left in the tank? Isn’t that we had been doing before this debacle? Getting veterans in their waining years and getting a little out of them. Albeit, one of our best seasons in recent history was with Montana at the helm.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:49 pmI just want nothing to do with Vick, regardless of his “talent”. Him and his brother are a waste of time.
The Rams released Dante Hall the other week, do we want him back as well? We already passed on Culpepper. Maybe we could trade for a hasbeen of the future. I hear Ryan Leaf is a quarterbacks coach at a college in the Texas panhandle.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:52 pmHow about Mike Cloud? TyLaw was being looked at by the Jets I believe. Whitlock says Jeff George is still available. Warren Sapp might come out of retirement. We might even get George Foreman and Butterbean if we play our cards right. Do we go back to what we were doing before or do what we are doing? So the real question seems to be “If our present course isn’t the answer, what is?”
November 23rd, 2008 at 9:27 pmIt seems as though our offence is quite schizophrenic. i know we ran, ran, pass before. And i know we have recently had success in the passing game, but do we really have to pass as much as we are???? we need balence, big time. LJ had like six rushes. I mean really, use a bit of sense. we hated running every down, but you still have to run sometimes.
November 23rd, 2008 at 10:53 pmOn a side note, i think the obscene use of the wildcat formation in the nfl these days is retarded. What the hell is the point?
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:02 pmThe bleeding started when LJ broke a solid run and Waters was flagged for pulling a little early. Then the pick 6. After that, the dam broke. The defense is already beat up and lacking talent, but were then put in an impossible situation. They were on the field the whole game and it obviously showed.
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:08 pmStick to the GD Plan!
Why is it that we forget all off-season wisdom during the season.
We knew we needed another rebuilding year (at least)
We knew that the offense and defense were incomplete
We knew we were sick of 8/8 years and 1 and out playoff shots
We knew that we wouldn’t be in playoff contention
We knew the worse our year went the better our draft position would be.
So QUIT YOUR DMN WHINING!
We even found a legit QB and WR during the fricking season. We never get that lucky. Staple that to the killer draft.
We also have a draft coming up where the holes we identified during the off-season can be filled with top talent (ILB,OLB,C,rOG,rOT)
check this out
1st Ray Malualuga (ILB)
2nd Brian Cushing (OLB)
2nd Alex Mack (C) (from trade down)
3th Phil Loadholt (rOT)
3rd fenuki tupou (rG/rOT)
4th Trevor Cantfield (rG)
and we pay for the services of Terell Suggs at DE
it could happen…or something close to this
lets fill all our major holes first…then we can nit-pick if a season goes wrong.
Oh, and for all those arguing about whether we should draft lauranitis, or Malualuga…this game should be telling. I would much rather have a hammer in the center that crushes the run at the line than what lauranitis brings to the table. But if we didn’t have a choice, I would still love to have the services of lauranitis.
Go Hawklets!
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:50 pmYeah, I feel bad for the “D” boys, out there seemingly all the time. When you’re tired its hard to stop anything but paying attention. So many of those guys were’nt even playing a few weeks ago. That shows too.
November 23rd, 2008 at 11:52 pmquoting MasterBlaster:
“1st Ray Malualuga (ILB)
2nd Brian Cushing (OLB)
2nd Alex Mack (C) (from trade down)
3th Phil Loadholt (rOT)
3rd fenuki tupou (rG/rOT)
4th Trevor Cantfield (rG)”
if that happens, I would go from 6 to midnight in a hurry
November 24th, 2008 at 12:02 amKC Chiefs paging Dr. Kevorkian…Help put us out of our misery, pls.
November 24th, 2008 at 12:07 amI just thought that the Kevorkian thing was a good caption to the above picture of bag-man
November 24th, 2008 at 12:09 amSo getting blown out by a .500 team is part of the plan? The GD plan? Last year we were 4-12. Are we to look back fondly on that and hope for a 2-14 season? Is that also part of the plan? The GD plan? If I remember correctly Brokie Croyle was supposed to be part of that plan too. And what about our big time #5 overall pick, the GD plan again? They are calling this season the year of parity in the NFL. The GD Titans are running away with it, with GD Kerry Collins at the helm.
November 24th, 2008 at 12:10 amSo we should QUIT OUR WHINNING, because we knew this season was a throw away? I don’t recall Harm ever saying the plan was to lose as many games as possible and players to injury as possible. We will get such great GD draft picks.
For your information GD MasterBlaster, I don’t think anybody expects a playoff team. DUH! But how far down do we have to go before we can start coming up? I suppose you might think it would be part of the GD plan if we drafted Harry Potter and his magik broom for a WR. So wipe off your chin, get out from under the desk, and google this “r-e-s-p-e-c-t”, you got none, opponents got none for us, and everyones throwing everyone else under the bus. But its all part of the GD plan, right? Swollow dolt.

November 24th, 2008 at 12:19 amYikes…getting a little too feisty…
I agree with you Sarge that we need to see PROGRESS to consider this part of the plan but I also see his side that this is just ONE game and we should have seen these games coming. The defense sucked this game (and I still want Gun gone) but they were out there all game because of the turnovers…
Sad day…dont let it get everyone frustrated and hostile…
November 24th, 2008 at 1:17 amWow Sgt. I thought I was the bastard commenter on here but I think you just hit me with a folding chair and ran out of the arena with my belt.
IMHO I think McNaab has some left in the tank, he needs a change of scenery and I’m not ready to crown Thigpen just yet. A lot of people said Kurt Warner was done two years ago. Same with Farve. I’d take a wily vet over some guy with “potential” like Tavaris Jackson, Brokie or whoever else you want to throw out there. You’re entitled to your opinion about Vick, but there isn’t a much better place for him than the midwest at this point.
November 24th, 2008 at 2:09 amharry potter!!!! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!
November 24th, 2008 at 10:58 amsgt_ducttape…
So getting blown out by a .500 team is part of the plan?…yes
The GD plan?…yes
Last year we were 4-12. Are we to look back fondly on that and hope for a 2-14 season?…yes, we have so many holes on our team that we need AT LEAST 2 solid drafts to rebuild.
Is that also part of the plan?…yes
The GD plan?…yes
If I remember correctly Brokie Croyle was supposed to be part of that plan too…no, I was always a Brodie Detractor. I wanted Brian Brohm in the draft and I wanted us to try like hell to get Brady Quinn in some sort of trade. Im still thinking we should look for Brohm on the waiver wire or trade. Green Bay has Arron Rodgers and Flynn. They may be willing to deal. I only think we should take a QB in the first of the 09 draft if Bradford declares. Hopefully he wont and we can trade up for him in 2010.
And what about our big time #5 overall pick, the GD plan again?…Bite your tongue dog. Dorsey is an awesome player and is continuing to grow. He is constantly commanding double teams. If we got a Suggs at DE and Maligula/Cushings, we would see Dorsey free’d up and looking a lot more like Warren Sapp.
They are calling this season the year of parity in the NFL….ok
The GD Titans are running away with it…ok
with GD Kerry Collins at the helm…happens
So we should QUIT OUR WHINNING…yep
because we knew this season was a throw away?…yep
I don’t recall Harm ever saying the plan was to lose as many games as possible and players to injury as possible…You listen to what herm says? thats funny.
We will get such great GD draft picks…yep
For your information GD MasterBlaster, I don’t think anybody expects a playoff team. DUH!…pretty much
But how far down do we have to go before we can start coming up?…all the way down…like the jets last year
I suppose you might think it would be part of the GD plan if we drafted Harry Potter and his magik broom for a WR….Only if he declares this year.
So wipe off your chin, get out from under the desk,
and google this “r-e-s-p-e-c-t”, you got none,…uh hu, uh hu
opponents got none for us,…the lions respect us
and everyones throwing everyone else under the bus…lots of bus throwing.
But its all part of the GD plan, right?…yep
Swollow dolt…uh hu, uh hu
Oh, and I forgot in my last post. The only thing that worries me about this last game is Pigpen losing some confidence. We need him to come back strong against the Raiders and shake this game off. If he does pull a Derick Anderson, we need him to do it next year, and save us from doing something really stupid with our 1st rounder (Stafford cough cough).
November 24th, 2008 at 11:18 amThe Lions respect us…wow, thats deep. That is an accolade that rings clear and summons the adoration from the breadth of the league. It really doesn’t matter that the Chiefs, Raiders and Lions have as many total wins as the Texans. It has been said that when you’re not the lead sled dog, the view never changes. So to the Lions we are just one more backside they have in front of them.
I must admit, it took the entire length of your post to read something credible. Your take on Thigpen was right on the mark. How we fell into getting him was pure, plain, unadulterated luck. I fear the current regime will somehow screw him up too. At least he can run.
Dorsey, however is drawing some double teams, to no avail for the rest of the defense, and seems to be slow on recognition. When he isn’t being doubled he gets no pressure beyond where he stands. Isn’t he supposed to push or something?
Do me a favor, don’t curse at me and rant about whining. Little kids whine when they don’t get their way. I, and the rest of the Chiefs Kingdom, are truly customers. Our support goes beyond the rah-rah beer chugs. Our dollars fuel the machine of industry that has so far produced a 0.091 winning percentage. If you purchased a double cheese burger and got .091% of your patties you would have the managers attention. No difference here. You somehow scewed the term “rebuilding” into meaning that ultimate suckiness was just fine with you. Maybe remodeling your trailer should start with a structure fire.
In response to my post you continuously agreed with me. “uh hu” and “yep” seems to be the extent of your verbal voracity and your pot stirring done with any available flotsom. You claim some arcane knowledge as to the GD plan and yet you seemed surprised anybody listens to the head coach. HUH?!?
The thousands of fans and supporters look to the coach for his insight and schemes to improve the product HE IS IN CHARGE OF. Yet you feel listening to him is humorous in effort. Fiddling while Arrowhead burns must be the appropriate response in your book. Talk about low expectations.
I also believe McNabb could be a great addition to a good team. Alas, we are not them. We do need to come back strong against the Raiders. But that act in of itself would be to GO AGAINST THE GD PLAN! You can’t have it both ways, Andy Dick. Either we must suck to sustain the plan to ultimate redemption and glory, or we raise up to smite the Oakland Philistines.
By the luck of a coin flip last year, we went down in draft picks from 3rd to 5th. We were near a new low in team performance and essentially lost several draft spots because of a coin. If there was something to whine about, that was it. Something beyond coaching, beyond conditioning, beyond practicing and yet it happened to us. Anybody around cry because of that? Nope. We took what we got. Roll your dice and move your mice.
What you fail to understand is the difference between infantile crying and adult frustration. As a customer I have an expectation of return for my support. Think of it this way, when the buzzer goes off on the fryer, it tells you to take out the fries. Thus preventing you from serving me burnt french fries resulting in my complaining to your manager who then has to retrain you in what the buzzer truly means. Look, see? You burnt the fries again, clock out Cletus.

The Lions respect us…wow, thats deep………..(((stupid people like to come out swinging at intellect. Watch, here comes the over use of 50 cent words, and bad analogies………)))
That is an accolade that rings clear and summons the adoration from the breadth of the league. It really doesn’t matter that the Chiefs, Raiders and Lions have as many total wins as the Texans. It has been said that when you’re not the lead sled dog, the view never changes. So to the Lions we are just one more backside they have in front of them……….(((Ok, im not even touching the “staring at dog’s arses” analogy. Oh, and my lions statement, wasn’t to be taken literally and argued ad nausium. I think the rest of the crew here got that.)))
I must admit, it took the entire length of your post to read something credible. Your take on Thigpen was right on the mark. How we fell into getting him was pure, plain, unadulterated luck. I fear the current regime will somehow screw him up too. At least he can run……….(((pass on this one.)))
Dorsey, however is drawing some double teams, to no avail for the rest of the defense, and seems to be slow on recognition. When he isn’t being doubled he gets no pressure beyond where he stands. Isn’t he supposed to push or something?………(((Its too early to be bagging on Dorsey. I’ll give him a pass until at least late next year.)))
You somehow scewed the term “rebuilding” into meaning that ultimate suckiness was just fine with you. Maybe remodeling your trailer should start with a structure fire…………(((Jesus, where to start. I like how you represent the entire chiefs kingdom now; nice touch. So, all your money went into supporting Schotenheimer, Vermille et. all.? All the way back to somewhere in the early 70s where we actually won a super bowl? Retard. And yes, “ultimate suckienss” brings high draft picks which we need to build a TRUE championship caliber team.)))
In response to my post you continuously agreed with me. “uh hu” and “yep” seems to be the extent of your verbal voracity and your pot stirring done with any available flotsom. You claim some arcane knowledge as to the GD plan and yet you seemed surprised anybody listens to the head coach. HUH?!?………….(((Verbal voracity? Bhaahah. Buy a dictionary rocket scientist. Verbal voracity means Verbal truth. I think you meant simply “vocabulary”. Anyways, the reason I passed over your comments with “uh hu” and “yep” is that I respect this forum and try to stay out of flame wars with donkeys like you.)))
The thousands of fans and supporters look to the coach for his insight and schemes to improve the product HE IS IN CHARGE OF. Yet you feel listening to him is humorous in effort. Fiddling while Arrowhead burns must be the appropriate response in your book. Talk about low expectations………..(((Don’t get me wrong. I like Herm. I think he is the right coach for building this team. If only for his awesome draft instincts and ability to build trust with this team. Other than that, well, the guy isn’t a the smartest guy on earth. I’m not sure he can operate a clock. And the real reason I think he stays away from top flight QB’s is that he doesn’t like someone on the field that is smarter than he is. Which isn’t a long drive to begin with.
Oh, and your “Nero fiddling while rome is burning” analogy…rome was rebuilt in Marble and entered its golden era. Dumbass.)))
I also believe McNabb could be a great addition to a good team. Alas, we are not them. We do need to come back strong against the Raiders. But that act in of itself would be to GO AGAINST THE GD PLAN! You can’t have it both ways, Andy Dick. Either we must suck to sustain the plan to ultimate redemption and glory, or we raise up to smite the Oakland Philistines……………..(((Wrong again. We dont need to win the game for Pigpen to maintain his confidence. Hell, look at the last 3 games. We lost, his confidence grew, and the chiefs fans nearly carried them out on their shoulders.)))
Roll your dice and move your mice……….(((Jesus, I can actually hear that hamster wheel turning in your head. Actually, it was multiple coin flips and statisticly we were probably going to choose at 4 or 5. Most Draft boards put us at 5 anyways thinking thats how it would probably work out. And guess what, your argument is moot once again. If we would have picked 3rd…Dorsey. If we would have picked 4th…Dorsey. And we picked 5th…Dorsey.)))
Look, see?
