AADQ: Post-Game Thoughts

Posted by: Adam Best

Tough loss, huh? Would have loved to see the Arrowhead faithful get a W, but at the same time our Chiefs now have the inside track at the No. 2 overall pick with that Bengals tie. Tyler Thigpen looked good as well, which, really, is the most important thing. And how about that Dwayne Bowe? For those of you who took my advice and went with the over on the total (49), I got it for you by one point. Sorry to make you sweat all the way to the bank!

Anyway, I just think the Saints needed this one more than we did. At times, we lacked an overall sense of urgency and it showed.

What are your post-game thoughts?

Harm Edwards gave that game away. In the 4th quarter on 4th and 2 when your offense had been moving the ball and you’re losing the game anyways, you have to keep the #1 offense in the NFL off the field.
Why do you give them the chance to score on your battered defense when you already need the points to tie? That was an example of NOT playing to win the game. I was absolutely disgusted with that one.

And our buddy Damion Sackintosh showed up again. He was god awful in the second half of this game. I almost want to say that pick in the end could have been prevented if Sackintosh had blocked his man better.

Overall it was ok, esp for our defense to be so bad. Our offense was worse with LJ against a bad defense than it had been without him.

Meant to say with the defense injured, not really meaning to say bad.

Holy offensive playcalling batman!! Love how the offence has looked lately. Better blocking is needed at times, and they really, really need to work on running the ball inside the 5. Aside from those goal line runs (even though he WAS in on one)I thought LJ looked good and if he really has got his head screwed on straight like he says he does, I think he will be a huge asset in this new look offence. The pass will eventually free up the run and I think we saw glimpses of that today. By the way that call on Cox was complete bull shit. Any way lets hope they don’t get all conservative again next year when they start off with a clean slate.

  5. 5. Randy Says:

Alot of folks at the game thought LJ looked stale and unmotivated but I thought he gave it his all just alot of different factors working there.

  6. 6. Adam Best Says:

I thought L.J. blocked well, especially early, and played hard. I just thought he was rusty and his conditioning was off. Hell, he’s been idle for a month. Put the ball on the turf a couple of times, but that was a rust thing I think. I also think some people have just made up their mind on Larry, which is fine. I’ve done the same with Herm, so it’s hard to be a hypocrite. On the other hand, Larry was done a lot more for this franchise than Harm.

  7. 7. 2383 Says:

Normally i am not too supportive of LJ. I find his attitude very abrasive at times and in the past it has come off that he has taken his oportunity in the nfl for granted. Recently though i read an interview with him where he pretty much holds himself accountable for his mistakes and attitude problems. He also said a few things that would indicate that he is more appreciative of the nfl and the kc chiefs. If he in fact has turned a corner, i am 100% supportive. I guess time will tell, but i’m definately pulling for the guy at this point.

Is losing 6 more games too good to wish for?

Is it possible we could lock down the no. 2 pick?

Are the Titans gona go undefeated?

Are the Lions going to go….defeated?

    Inquiring minds want to know.

Things are just going too well. I’m having a hard time believing it.

    1 and 10 with a possiblity of no. 2 pick…good.

The Great Cock of the South!…Costal Carolina’s own!…T-y-l-e-r T-h-i-g-h-p-e-n!….Is he a running back? Is he a Quarterback? we dont know! He slices, he dices, he even makes julian fries!……………..good

    The Bradley Fighting Vehicle…good

The fact that we look really good losing and are exciting to watch losing…good

The fact that 75% of our 08 draft struck gold….good

    so much goodness im giddy.

Anyone notice anything outa that new DE today?

I hope our lack of pass rushing isnt gona make us draft a DE. Im so sold on trading down, picking up a 2nd, and drafting Maligula. I think the Texans might bite.

  9. 9. MasterBlaster Says:

Oh…and I stayed up late one night, burning the midnight oil, to come up with a killer draft strategy.

Ok, now bear with me, cause i know some of these guys wont drop outa the first…but there are some seriously solid second choices.

Oh, and I made the assumption that we traded down with someone like the Texans for their 1st and 2nd for the top DE or Crabtree or something.

    here we go…

    (8) 1st Ray Malegula (ILB)
    (35) 2nd Brian Cushing (OLB)(McRath)(Freeman)
    (40) 2nd Alex Mack (C) (Luigs)(Caldwell)
    (67) 3rd Phil Loadholt (rOT)(Tupou)(Boone)(Meredith)
    (99) 3rd Fenuki Tupou (rOG)(Cantfield)(Parker)
    (120)4th T. Cantfield (rOG)(Parker)
    5th ?
    6th ?
    7th ?

Tupou can play both rOT or rOG

In one fell swoop that would fix 5 of our 6 glaring holes.

I know I left out a rushing DE. You really have to pick those at the top of the first and I’m thinking Malegula is a much safer bet than the top DE’s this year. Oh, and we get a needed 2nd pick outa it.

I also think we should SERIOUSLY consider paying for Suggs DE rushing talent. He would be good enough for now. Combined with Malegula’s rushing talents…could get interesting.

Anyways, that is what my sick mind has been mulling over these last few weeks…tell me what you think.

Andre Smith LT from Bama. Do it now

  11. 11. MasterBlaster Says:

With 6 major holes and Branden Albert you want another oLT?

And if you say move Albert to Guard, I will find you and beat you with a stick haha.

  12. 12. 2383 Says:

trading down rarly happens with that high of a pick, especially when you are bartering with a carl pederson, so i wouldn’t get my hopes up.

  13. 13. MasterBlaster Says:

Yahhh…I know 2383. (kicks can). Guy can dream cant he haha.
