I think Marshall still got to say every stupid thing he wanted to after the game so I'm not sure what the complaint is. Stokley acted with a level head and as much as I hate the broncos, its nice to see that there are actually players in the NFL that use multiple parts of their brain so I must say I applaud him. Seriously, I don't care who you are you have to admit, half of these guys are lucky to be alive much less playing football. You only have to look to the NFL to realize that Darwinism is a thing of the past, we keep stupid people alive a lot longer than we should and its obvious this is staring to thin the gene pool. Honestly though, Stokley was probably just scared that this moron was going to whip it out on the football field, so I think he made the right decision.

I agree with KCFanin, keep football out of politics. Anybody can do political blogs, like the disingenuous "daily kos" if they want that kind of garbage, but here we have a place to talk about our chiefs, and that's all I want to hear about. So please lets stick to what we all can agree on we want to see our chiefs win a super bowl before we die... (okay in retrospect, maybe I should have started at playoff game!)

Yeah, I don't think it was a political/partisan statement as much as it was a statement like "they held black fists up back in '68 when we had a white President and racism was more prevalent, but now that we have a mixed President and American culture has changed we are all the same." I thought it was an appropriate tribute/statement given the week. I don't think a player saluting the first black U.S. President and the cultural/racial progress we've made would have opened the door for the Government to get involved anyway. Just my $.02.

I agree that the clamping down on celebrations is far too harsh, but I don't agree that was a good thing for anyone to do.

Keep politics out of football. Please. In every way possible.
Thats all we need is an invitation to the federal government to step into football. Before you know it there'd be congressional hearings and government review for what the sport does.

Love the idea of unity, but if he wants to spread his political beliefs and thoughts, please leave until you're off the field.

Stokley made the right choice, I mean The Browns were in the game the whole game and tye still had time on the clock all they needed was momentum and who's to say we don't have a different stat line at the end of the game. That penalty would have been a huge momentum changer

Yeah, I was just having some fun with Brandon and the Broncos, but the NFL needs to chill out. I think they are worried about the "culture" of the game alienating fans like some people feel the NBA's "culture" has alienated some of its fans.

It was definitely and exciting game, though.

I didn't see the game, but if Stokley felt as though his celebration would have caused them to lose the game, he made the right choice. On the other hand, it SHOULDN'T cost them the game. I agree that the NFL's rules on TD celebrations has gone too far.
