Season tickets make alot of sense Woodster you can get two very good positioned for $390 per seat now, and when they have a .500 or better season you can sell the ones you dont use and pay for the ones you do, legally now in MO I might add. Of course when they have a year like this you wind up eating alot of peanut butter and jelly.

WHAT?! Come on Adam...Whitlock is constantly calling for Herm and Carl to be fired...It felt good to read his article...You got the feeling that he felt the improvement at the game and was starting to believe in the team...like we need such a thing...but oh well...

Randy...wow, two Carthage folk on the same Chiefs blog, that is kinda crazy...And when I go I typically am in about 117 or 118...I get em off stubhub but wana get some season tickets soon...I am preeeeeetty sure there will be some available...haha

Oh and Adam...or anyone who cares about my jersey search...I did end up just getting a Tony jersey...classic...it needed to happen...

Way to go, Whitlock. Now everybody is blaming the refs for us losing a three-TD lead. Chiefs fans don't need any help with being apologists, Big Sexy. Come draft time we will be thanking the refs as well. It was a ticky-tack call, but c'mon Jabba. He'll do anything to keep the pressure off of Herm and on his moneymaker King Carl.

OH I sit above the entry tunnel Woody and Im an old Carthage boy myself.

Absolutely...At first I wanted to blame the conservative playcalling...but we were moving the ball on the ground amazingly...and then the OPI call took our final drive from us...if not for that we would have won...

And what was the play call there? oh...a PA Boot, like I said we should have done last week lololol...it wouldve worked if the ref wasnt a toolshed

Happy Adam and Angry Adam. Apparently I have split personality disorder, lol. In all seriousness, part of the reason I push so hard is to inspire the Chiefs fan base to do the same (I also have to get it off my chest!). I think we are too complacent as a base when it comes to our Chiefs. I mean, Herm Edwards is 1-16 in his last 17 and hardly anybody is calling for his head. What gives? Where's the outrage? Why is everybody so sure that we are on the right track?

Unfortunately, I do think Herm will be here, because I think Clarky is just as inept as he is. That doesn't mean I'll stay quiet, though.

Thanks for the comment Dakota Dave, always appreciate your insight.

Adam, I can already see it coming. Remember how pissed off you were this off season when the Chiefs didn't go after the guys you wanted? I think that was only a minor preview of the anger you will feel when Clark doesn't can Herm. I really really don't think Herm's job is in danger until the end of next year. At the very least, it isn't the foregone conclusion you think it is. You should probably start to prepare yourself (I like happy Adam much better than angry Adam).

I can't blame this loss on being conservative in the second half. I blame it on a young and depleted defense that was unable to carry the team at the end of the game when they needed them to. The ref stole our last offensive drive from us. At some point our defense has to stand up and say "We just got screwed, but we WILL NOT let them take this game from us". Those guys just plain folded at the end. Once they figure out how to finish a game, they won't turn back.

If we continue to play the way we did this week there will definately be some wins before the end of the year.

I think Bowe, Bradley and Gonzalez are gold to us baby. I must say at the end of the game last night I missed a motivated Chief loving Jared ropin' ghost cattle.

Great comments as always, Sudden.

Not only getting Thiggy with it, but since it's election season we are all witnessing The Bradley Effect. On both guys, however, I want to see them prove it over a longer period of time when, yes, other teams do have substantial tape of them playing in our system.

And please let's not take a linebacker in the top five, gang. Holy reaching GM, Batman!

I swear this is the last thing that I'll add for now, but we just put up more points against the Bucs than any other team has this season and Jamaal Charles became the first 100-yard rusher they've given up this season. For an offense that has looked absolutely anemic all season long, the last two weeks have been a blessing.

That's what happens when you get Thiggy with it.

And I think Bradley and Bowe so far are showing that we don't need to draft another WR in Crabtree. Without doubt he is one of the most exciting players at the college level, but our needs right now appear to be heavily weighted on defense, specifically the LB corps and the pass rush (and the DC, but I'll save my "Fire Gun" campaign for later).

Adam, you'll recall that I am not exactly just jumping on the Thiggy bandwagon, but I was driving the busu since the preseason. Since seeing him get some considerable playing time in the preseason, I've loved the fight in this kid. And now we're beginning to see that big intangible that I've been convinced he had: he is making the players around him better simply vis-a-vis his leadership. All of this said, I am mindful of what I call the Derek Anderson curse. DA came out of nowhere last season (though we Chiefs fans learned of him two years prior). He had a streak of 8 games where he looked like the second coming. Then, the tape started accumulating. He threw a gang of INTs towards the end of last season, but CLE still believed and they signed him to a ridiculous extension even with Brady Quinn waiting in the wings. This could happen with Thigpen. I don't believe it will, but there's a chance no doubt that once more tape is accumulated on Bones that teams will figure out how to force turnovers and disrupt his passing. As far as I'm concerned, the rest of this season is his extended tryout and if he keeps playing like yesterday and the game against the Jets, I think he should be our starter next year. Bradford is unlikely to come out this season and he is the only QB that I'd be willing to draft as high as we will draft. We should be able to get a guaranteed success at MLB that we desperately need instead.

Taking Crabtree would be a bold move and I would love it frankly. We need an impact player of his caliber.

Other players I would be happy to get in the first round in no particular order of preference:
DE/OLB Selvie
CB Jenkins
MLB Maualuga (first choice for MLB)
MLB Laurinitis (second choice for MLB)

Don't want to even consider QB or OL until 2nd round at the earliest.

I'm thinking Tebow might be better suited as a RB rather than QB in the NFL. He'd certainly give you some versatility and dimension in the option.

Adam, I disagree about Herm. IF he gets fired we'll be rebuilding for another 3 years. Coaches always want to get "their guys" into their system. And you know that if Herm is fired that Carl will have to go at the same time. So we'll be looking at a team that is 2-14 (or whatever it is that we would finish to get Herm fired) with a new GM and new head coach. I want Herm to get a chance to play this thing out.

About the loss... I think the last play says it all. Leggett was the cover guy on THE key play of the game. We can compete with teams when it's our starters vs. their starters. But as soon as you start to get to our depth at skill positions the talent level drops waaaaay off. The back-ups are all undrafted guys. Next year the back-ups will be the gems that Bill Kuharich can find in the late rounds of the '09 draft. Patience. The loss stinks, but there was progress.

Brandon Albert was actually a left guard and can play on both sides of the line really well, very versitle and if you get a stud LT that just helps the other side out equally then all you need is a stud RT.

Yeah, Herm's definitely sticking around.

Woody...I agree with you about addressing the line. But if you want Andre Smith or Michael Oher, are they going to back up Branden Albert or vice versa? I just don't understand drafting a LT this year when we did that last year in the 1st round. A 1st round back up doesn't make much sense IMO.

i agree with you on alot of that.

first of, this season is lost. It's now about giving our young guys playing time and getting the best draft pick. Unfortunetly that means we have to lose games. But that's not all bad.

What the last two games have shown us is that we can win teams. We have been in the position to get Wins and thats a great sign. I really want to get a great pick this year, but i also wanna see some wins. Its a real catch 22.

I think we need to draft either an O-lineman (Oher, Smith) or a Linebacker (maualuga, Lauriniatis).

We Either move Albert to LG and Oher/Smith to LT or play the rookie at RT and have Albert remain LT. Having a great O-line is the foundation to a great offense and a move like that would surely help. Drafting a LB is no real shock. Either of the two rookies would be an instant upgrade at MLB and OLB.

I dont think Herm will be fired...sorry...there is just no indication of it...and with Carl's contract going one more year and Clark determined to carry out his dad's wishes...I just dont see it at all...

Crabtree is a bad plan...you know my thoughts on this...take the best lineman available...Bradford is quite unlikely to come out...

That trick play was amazing indeed...oh my...I knew what was happening as soon as he got the reverse and it was beautiful...mmmmhmmmm
