Loss #6 – J.E.T.S. Jets! Jets! Jets!

(Make sure you check out Adam’s take on the game in his Vlog below…good stuff. )

Darnit!

So close but yet so far…

Repeat after me; I will not let myself get excited about Tyler’s performance, I will not let myself get excited about Tyler’s performance.

Let’s face it, Tyler Thigpen looked great.  I refuse to believe it was for real until he or any other Chiefs QB proves they can play legitimate football two consecutive weeks in a row, then and only then will I begin to believe…again. Don’t get me wrong, I want to believe, but I can’t go through the emotional roller coaster.  It’s like an old girlfriend, she’s hot, everything you want in a woman, but breaks your heart every time you start to believe she could be “the one“, until finally you get the nuts to stand up and say enough is enough.  That is what it is like to be Chiefs fan…But I still love you baby!

Please Tyler, show us you can do it again, please.

It’s bad enough Benard Pollard constantly takes bad angles and can’t tackle, the Chiefs really don’t need him getting a taunting penalty.  Taunting?  What in the world could he possibly be taunting anyone about?  “Hey Man! I woulda tackled you sooner if I hadn’t ran right at you instead of where you were going to be and then wrapped my arms around you instead of trying put a big hit on you so I could be on Sports Center…you’re lucky!” I wonder how close DaJuan Morgan is to playing?

Thank God Herman Edwards decided to move Tamba Hali back over to his original spot at left defensive end-he looked so much better and comfortable today, actually getting a sack, causing an interception and I don’t know how many hurry’s he’ll get credit for. Now if the Chiefs can just fix the lack of pass rush from the right side they might have something.  At least they are trying…at least.

The defense is still basically horrid however, I think it is probably a good thing that the Jets didn’t try to run it very much in the 1st half. Their game plan was for Favre to eat up the two rookie corners and they didn’t feel they had to run to set it up.  The run defense is still not good at all, I get so tired of seeing the opposing teams running back hit the defensive line and then pop through the other side for a big gain with no linebackers in sight.

Draft Watch…

Matt Stafford looked like a #1 overall quarterback playing against LSU Saturday night.  Anybody watch that game?  Everyone always talks about the cannon he has for an arm, but so what?  So does Brodie Croyle (takes hat off and places over heart) and 90% of the QB’s in the NFL, it’s what he has up top that has me worried. But Saturday night Stafford made good reads, showed he could put “touch” on the ball, and looked like the veteran quarterback he is. There is only one slight problem to the plan-the Detroit Lions might not win a game this year therefore putting themselves right at the top of the draft where it is painfully obvious they too need a quarterback.  We’ll just have to see how this plays out.

            BallHype: hype it up!

Other than the fact that the tauniting penalty came at a very poor time, it really didn’t bother me much. I’m all for sportsmanship, but sometimes I think our guys need to stop helping the opposing player get up after he was just gently tackled. Our D needs to collectively grow some bigger nads. Talk some trash, make some bigger hits AFTER the wistle. I’m not saying play dirty, but they need to get into players heads a little bit. The oposing offense just always seems way to comfortable. Did you see the way Jenkins threw Thigpen to the ground well after the wistle because he knew he was getting penalized anyway, and then he gets up and bows to the KC bench? Those are the brass ones a few of our guys need.

I was really glad to see that we may have some talent in thigpen and Mark Bradley.

We could have really used Johnson. Herm and Gailey are idiots. Running Kolby SMith who was averaging like 1.4 yards a carry was plain dumb. How come Savage did not get a few totes?

The spread offense should be utilized all season.

I am not thrilled about the upcoming Culpepper signing. Stick with Thigpen and then bring in Gray if he starts back to his old ways. Viva la Thigpen.

Oh by the way, do you remember the surprise player post Adam did before the season? Yes I did pick Thigpen. I am surprised, how about you?

Herm never fails to prove why he shouldn’t be re-hired…The fact remains he loves close games..Granted I was incredibly happy just to see we we’re competitive and scoring some damn points and thigpen looked good..

But Herm can’t coach..It’s just that simple..When our talent gets better in a couple years, I really hope someone else is the coach of this team because Herm is terrible..We’re gonna lose and lose and lose with this guy as a coach because he really doesn’t play to win the game..He plays to have a chance at winning the game, but his conservative nature screws us..Herm lets keep the losing come on!
