Well, that wasn’t so bad for once. We actually saw some encouraging signs. I’ll be back with my post-game vlog later on, but for now…
What are your post-game thoughts?

Even though I have never seen a game where a team that is +3 in turnovers loses the game, it was a step in the right direction.
Can't you just hear Christopher Walken saying, "Guys...we need more D-Bowe." Love the "pass, pass, pass" comment, Crane!
bbqfann1, great bike analogy. Too true.
Guys the game today showed me we have something. A bunch of young guys with promise. Some teams abandon all hope but we never do. Fox Sports is reporting that Culpepper is meeting with the Chiefs Tuesday. Thigpen has talent. Quinn has talent. Even Croyle and Huard have some talent. It looks like someone has said get some F'ing qb talent NOW and it looks like we are putting some together. ON top of that we have some real young talent on both the offensive and defensive lines. Im looking forward to watching the game with the enthusiastic group in my section that I absolutely know will be there rain or shine. We really do have something here.
Ha...yeah, I saw him yell a few times...he also yelled something about blitzing...i duno...He is no Mike Singletary tho...did you see that? holy hell...
typical Herm Edwards game, blowing the lead to run the clock out. Foolish. Thiggy Smalls played out of his mind, and I couldn't help but think Vick could bring similar games to the Chiefs with a stronger run threat. All the passes were short to mid range, with a lot of zip on them, anyway, I just wanted to throw that out there.
How about the first half when the Jets had the ball and there was a close up on Herm and he starts yelling (for the first time all season that I've seen) "PASS PASS PASS!!!" and the play is a run.
I agree with you all on the good points of the game...but I am still going to be a downer and talk about what eventually blew our chance at pulling out a win. First, I will give Herm and Gailey credit for putting together an offensive package this week that utilized Thiggy's talents. With that said, what ultimately lost this game in my opinion (who needs abbreviations...) was that they committed one of the cardinal sins of playcalling: When they got a lead they went away from what was working. The moment I knew we wouldnt win was when we got the ball back with 5:00 remaining and had three simple runs...are you kidding me?! Had we been running successfully at all up to this point? no...not by any means (especially with Charles out)Now I know what everyone will say, "We had to keep the clock running, its clock management!" Well there are many different low risk ways to keep the clock going AND pick up the first down there...like, PLAY ACTION BOOTLEG! Seems like everytime we have run it it has been successful...but we fail to utilize it when we need it most...
Anyways....thats my minirant...other than that I think we played well...If LJ had played we would have won...I think...as long as his presence didnt change their pass happy playcalling...
About the refs...yes, they did blow a butt-ton of calls on us. It does seem like any time Favre plays they give not only him but his entire team the benefit of the doubt on every play and that is ridiculous. There were multiple DPI calls that should have been made on Jets DBs that werent...and the OPI call on Tony was absolutely disgusting...30 yds from the play!? are you kidding?!
It is good to see Bradley getting so involved right away...Also Cottam, he showed great promise and has stayed healthy...
Herm did better at preparing these boys, but I think the return to Hermball late in the game cost this team a win...
Nice to see the Chiefs being competitive in a game. Thigpen played out of his mind, hope he keeps it up. Am I the only one that thinks Herm "you play to win the game" Edwards never actually plays to win. He plays not to lose. Before our last possesion I turned to my brother and said, we are gonna run three times and punt it away. EVERYONE KNEW THAT. including the Jets and sure enough we punted away and gave Favre a chance and he beat us. Could we not of at least attempted one play action pass for a first down. What would it have cost us 30 seconds? I get sick and tired of this scared play calling. You can never win in the NFL, playing "not to lose" !!!!!!
I agree today it was the Jets and Refs against KC. I'm pretty sure that the reason Coles had such an amazing one handed catch was he was using the other one to push Pattyboy to the ground! If that had been Tony G. they would have called offensive pass interference.
I thought Savage did a good job again today. I think we've found our return guy. Barth made his field goal! lets hope he can build on that. DJ you've gotta make that catch. To the coaching staff: All day short passes have worked and the OLine did a pretty good job of pass protection. So obviously since and our O-line has been unable to open a real hole the best course of action with 5 mins left was to run the ball 3 times and punt?!?!?! we only needed a couple firsts downs you idiots.
Chiefs this year are alot like learning to ride a bike for the first time. You have some great short rides, spectacular crashes then slow and and steady progress. If you are really going to be good you have to a winning attitude and a drive to be successful. That is something you didn't see in Croyle, I like Thigpens attitude and demeanor 100% more than Brodie. He has the ability to be leader and thats what this young team needs. Chiefs need a few things, another offensive tackle, put hali back on other side and get pass rusher- hali too small for that right side, and middle linbacker to plug up middle. our linebackers have hard time shedding blockers.
Solid game all around. Thigpen played extremely well, along with the usual suspects - DBowe & Gonzo. Bradley's catch was a thing of beauty - knew it was a TD as soon as they showed the replay.
Unfortunately that was the only call the refs got right all day long. They gift wrapped this win for Favre, with the ridiculous PI call on Tony, and about 100 non-calls on the Jets CBs. The catch by Coles at the end was offensive PI as well, and should have been called IMO.
At any rate, solid game by the Chiefs. Hopefully the Chiefs can build on it for next week.
yea flowers played very well im very excited about what we have in this youngster hes gonna be a stud corner on our defense for a long time!!!
GO CHIEFS!!!
I was incredibly impressed with Thigpen. He was accurate, threw with speed, and also threw with good touch. It's too bad Charles got hurt or that might have changed the game. Too bad the refs blew some calls at the end.
I knew thiggy had it in him. i told you, give them time to gel and we will get better.
Something that does trouble me is the fact that the coaches don't have any presight what so ever. Several times i heard the commentators predict certain plays and ideas in which the chiefs didn't see coming. Don't really know how to explain it but yeah, shame about the loss.
