The Times They Are a-Changin'

A Best and a Thorman together on The New York Times? The times have definitely changed when it comes to the Chiefs blogosphere. Here’s my “100 Words” contribution to The New York Times’ The Fifth Down Blog:

What I’m wondering is how New York Jets fans will treat ex-head coach Herm Edwards. I don’t know how they will, but I know how they should — like royalty. “Harm” Edwards — arguably the worst coach in football, at any level — is now coaching our Chiefs. Meanwhile, the Jets have a serious coach in Eric Mangini. Additionally, I think we should start calling Herm “Track.” Because he’s one of Sarah Palin’s kids? No. Because everybody runs on him. Expect Thomas Jones to run amok behind the blocking of ex-Chief Tony Richardson (oh, how we miss thee). Jets fans should throw rose petals down at Herm’s feet when he jogs out of the tunnel. They’re that lucky.

Herm has been less than spectacular but Mangini has hardly set the world on fire. In fact he’s a flop.

Wow, congrats on the huge exposure! Great way to convey the feelings of the fanbase on a national scale. Bravo.
