AADQ: The Other Three QBs

by AADQ

This one’s simple: Bruce Gradkowski, Daunte Culpepper or Quinn Gray? I actually am fine with any of the three for the Chiefs here. I think I’d prefer C-Pepp if it was just a one-season rental, because I think he’d be able to click with our offense a little quicker. If we are auditioning these guys for future gigs, then I’d probably go with Gray. His scrambling ability and size (he’s two inches taller and 35 pounds heavier) make him a better fit for our offense. The good thing about both C-Pepp and Gray is that they have the size to hold up behind this patchwork offensive line.

Which of the three QBs do you want us to ink?

Honestly if this new guys doesnt change things its going to be hard not to stop watching. I dont know what to do about my tickets next year.

At 6'3", 254# he should at least be able to block a linebacker. Oh wait, he's gonna be the QB, isn't he. Scratch that.

At 6'3", 254# he should at least be able to hang in there for most, if not all, of one whole game.

QUINN GRAY! FINALLY A MOBILE QUARTERBACK WHO CAN THROW!

They are all cannon fodder anyway...

Did Sackintosh get benched? Finally? Kent Babb from the Star interviewed Herm who said he hoped Herb would play better this week after some errors last week.

It's Quinn Gray - Chiefs now have an agreement-in-principle in place with him - 3 year deal. He'll be attending the team meeting this morning.

Yikes Carl said they arent giving up on Croyle He would be a good backup but no more. We need at least three new qbs to add to the team and let them compete for the starting position. Would have been nice to have started this crap before the bye week.

Quinn Gray is pretty good. He played well in his only extended NFL playing time with the Jags. I see him as a slightly better Casey Printers. Gradkowski has a weaker arm than Gray, but also played well in his only playing time. The thing that both men have over Culpepper is they were playing this preseason and should be pretty much in shape. Culpepper hasn't taken a snap in a long while and he's a big guy to begin with so I would expect he would need to drop some pounds.

All 3 may be as good as what's available on the FA market in the offseason. I think we will draft a QB high for sure, but no team drafts a first rd QB and says absolutely the guy will start game 1. What if they hold out and miss a lot of camp? What if they are not ready? SO the team needs a competent backup and Huard/Croyle/Thiggy(probably) aren't it. I think Gray's the best fit.

Tim they are not looking for a diamond in the rough like woody said more or less a filler. Culpepper is prolly not gonna play for us which couldn't hurt being he is a vet to help build the young QB everyone once us to draft and build i mean face it we are not gonna find a Matt Ryan in this years draft.

This Mike Vick thing i just everyone would give up on. You see what he did to Atlanta and it's what LJ is starting to do to us as much as I like LJ he's only gonna show up when he wants.

For Herm I think he better watch out because we've only had one loss that we were competitive in even though we are rebuilding you gotta get more heart and passion out of your players.

Well, Culpepper is not going to happen...for whatever reason (he says he is retired, if he gets anything he wants a long term starter job...so on)

I think the other two are interchangeable, like Adam I think...Both of those are basically to give us an option other than Ingle Martin later in the season...

Seeing as our line is awful I think they know they need more depth for sure...If Huard ever starts again he will likely be hurt, and we dont want to be stuck in a position (like we will be this Sunday) with Thiggy and Martin annnnnnd....thats it...So i think it is just going to be insurance...nothing more...

arrrgggg. It irritates me that anyone thinks any of these Qb's will be a good match in KC. We do the chiefs think they can just slot some randon unskilled Qb into our team and he will succeed. Its this stupid mentality that we will find a diamond in the ruff and he will go on to be really successful. thats bullshit. Any free agent we pick up now is just wasting our money. We need to either draft and train a QB our sign a big name Free agent for big bucs.

Signing a QB now is just a lame effort to scratch a few wins out of a rebuilding season. it would be a lame attempt to get more ticket sales by management. I want to see Thiggy Smallz start in all our our remaining games. I would prefer to lose, going 2-14, developing our own Qb, than go 4-12 and have a stupid fill in guy. Lets face it, we are not going to get into the playoffs so why bother changing Qbs now.

Not to mention its unfair to Herm and Chancer. He is trying to install an offense, which has been sucessful with all the other teams he was with. Its not his fault at this point, its the personal and the execution. Bringing in a new QB who has to learn the offense is just setting us back even more. This offense is about execution, plain and simple. We need consistency and continuity.

Thiggy is our QB, lets get behind him and allow him to make magic.

PS. The one exception is ofcourse Mike Vick. He may just be a stopper QB while we develop a Rookie but no one can deny that he isn't great to watch. His highlight videos give me tingles. I wouldn't mind a loss so bad if we had some highlights on sportcenter. anyone agree with me?

I wonder why they cant get Culpepper?
