Hey good news! The Chiefs didn’t lose! All right, enough sarcasm, at least for a couple seconds. Let’s face it, everybody related to the Kansas City Chiefs in the least little bit needed this bye week. I don’t know if I would have been able to stomach another performance like the one against Carolina. Could you? I’m a die hard Chiefs fan and win loss record will never sway my allegiance, only the signing of a particular player would dent my armor just a little. Say a player like Mike Vick, someone of that caliber. But having to sit down and watch the sub-par football that is coming out of KC right now is awful hard to watch.
The big news of course during this bye week coming out of Kansas City is the news of future Hall Of Famer Tony Gonzalez being placed on the trading block. It’s bitter sweet. As a Chiefs fan you both hate to see someone like Tony go, but at the same time, you would be happy for him if he lands in a situation that would give him a legitimate shot to win the Super Bowl.
I can’t help but think some team will offer up something, whether it be player(s) or pick(s), the only question will be whether Chiefs strong man Carl Peterson will accept it, or deem it worthy enough. Carl is a shrewd business man, and he is not going to let Tony go for nothing or because “he owes it to him“. I have stated it time and time again, these players are like livestock to the GM’s, they must get something in return or it’s not going to happen. Whether it’s the G-Men or some other team, they will have to pay the Peterson in order to acquire the services of Tony.
Good Luck Tony. I wish you well, and I hope you win the big one. I gurantee you this, no matter who Tony winds up playing for, and they make it to the Super Bowl, that is the team I’m rooting for, 100%.
Anybody know if Herm Edwards has figured out why the Chiefs suck so bad so far? For one year and 5 games, we have heard nothing but “I don’t know what went wrong” or “it’s a mystery to me why we played so poorly“, apparently Herm can’t figure it out and hasn’t for one and a half years. I have been a staunch supporter of Herm, but it’s time to crap or get off the pot. I’m tired of hearing the same excuses, for a man who states he doesn’t make excuses, then why do we hear the same “excuses” after every loss? Just tell the truth! It’s time to step up to the podium and tell us the truth; What is the problem? Coaching? Personnel? Front Office? All the above?
Anybody want to go ahead and predict the score of the Titans game? I don’t, I’m afraid of what I might write…and even more afraid it might come to fruition.

Very good thoughts Steven. Id love to see a subject started asking for everyones thoughts on how this type of rebuilding has worked for other teams. Lots of opinions on if this will work but not alot of historical comparisons other than with the Cowboys. Surely other teams besides the Cowboys have made this work.
Miami seems to be turning it around. Time will tell. I find it somewhat noteworthy that Chad Pennington, a “Herm” guy, is calling signals for the Phins and not doing too bad of a job at it.
Other than the thinly veiled Mike Vick shot (lol), I’m on board with all of this. I’m not and have never been a staunch Harm supporter, but I am also sick of his excuses. Take some damn accountability, Preacher!
I totally agree that Chiefs Nation should pull for Tony to get the ring he deserves. Or at least a playoff win, something King Carl and his Court Jesters never could offer him.
The Titans are going to annihilate us. Best defense in the league? Like I told my dad yesterday (and I’ll probably use this again), Jeff Fisher coaching against Harm is like when King Kong Bundy beat the hell out of that midget wrestler. Total mismatch.

Dateline Arrowhead Stadium: Unbeknowst to the Kansas City Chiefs coaching staff, there was no game this week because of the “bye”. Coach Herm Edwards had his team on the field at Arrowhead to take on the Bye Weeks. Asked what he thought about the game beforehand, Herm Edwards said, “They have a strange name, they do. But that’s what’s good about it, you can play teams like the Bye Weeks, the young guys have to go play. They have to make plays and play the game.” Herm’s Chiefs took the field at Arrowhead, against no-one and sixteen plays later the offense scored.
Wade Philips should be available soon. He can bring Camp Cupcake to KC. Maybe John Madden and Al Davis can change places with King Carl and Herm Edwards. That could be pretty interesting to watch.
