This is such bullshit! First off, who's to say that Tony doesn't have 4 or 5 good years left in him? Secondly, we do not owe Tony Gonzalez a damn thing. He has had his shot at a title - many times over - right here wearing Red and Gold. The fact that it did not happen is as his much fault as anybody's. IT'S A TEAM SPORT TONY and last time I checked you were still a member of this team - act like it dammit!

Sorry, but the way this all looks to me is that Tony G is anything but a class act. The way I see it, he got to play for a very exciting, fun, high-powered team for many years where he could showcase his talents. Now it's not fun, not glamorous and he wants out. This whole thing is so transparent to me that it make me ill to see him behaving this way and making it all about him.

We fans have given Tony Gonzalez a lot of love over the years. We fans deserve better. Tony Gonzalez needs to man up and become the kind of leader and master motivator that he has pal Oprah and apparently much of the rest of the world conned into believing that he is.

Crane, you are right on. If this goes down, it will be one of the biggest front office distasters in the history of the NFL and the fans who have tried their best to support this team will not take it. We're talking blackout city for years to come.

i found this from way back in early september, i knew i read it somewhere but took me forever to find the quote

Gonzalez: “You know, a lot of other guys would have demanded a trade. Brett Favre, Jason Taylor, Zach Thomas…a lot of franchise guys changed colors, and wanted to. Not me. I’m Red and Gold for life."

so much for that....

All of you are out of your freaking mind. If we trade Tony G I am going to puke. Plus if he is gone it would hurt the development of Dwayne Bowe. Sorry Tony but you need to stay. This is a team sport, win or lose you play the cards yoiur dealt. we have to. after this season, Edwards and petersen need to go.

I wouldnt trade him for anything less than a 2nd rounder. A low 1st preferably.

Giants should give us that 2nd and 5th....offering just a 6th is bogus. And none of this "lets meet in the middle" crap. 2nd and 5th or nothing.

A probowler with 3ish good years left in him is at least worth a 2nd

Yeah Boss did do good in the superbowl but Cottom is the same type of tightend as Boss. To me when you rebuild you need a good mixture of Rookies and vetrans you cant rebuild with all rookies its impossible thats too much pressure you are putting them they need some vetrans to look up to there are only a few guy's with more than 5 years experience

i agree aswell , nothin id rather see then Tony happy. But i think we should try to get the gaints to give us Boss and maybe a 5th or 6th pick. I loved Boss last year in the Superbowl. The Guy has showen so stuff that looks like he could be a young star. But no matter what i think we need to worry bout a Qb so maybe also try tradeing Tony for a Qb. But no teams come to mind in which would be worth it.

Strange way of putting it, but I agree Tony should be allowed to play for a contender.

Cottam is more injury prone than Croyle, so that's delusional.

The line of thinking of starting Thigpen over Huard, trading Tony G to trust more draft picks to King Carl has me ready to explode.
