Saw this on The Kansas City Star's website. Thought it was clever and well crafted:

And lo the army of Arrowhead went unto the land of Carolina, and marched into the valley of the Panthers. And the army of Arrowhead was filled with the spirit after their victory over the horsemen of Denver. But the Panthers were afraid not of the army of Arrowhead. For the Panthers had read the commandments set forth from King Carl and the Worm Sperm and knew them.

And the greatest commandment was from King Carl and was written "Thou shalt have no other plan then the 5-year plan, for the plan is good."
And the other commandments were from the Worm Sperm and were written "Thou shalt run twice before daring to fly."
"Thou shalt dare not fly if thou has the advantage."
"Thou shalt always kick when thou senses trouble."

And the Panthers pounced on the army of Arrowhead from the ground and from the air, and feasted on them. And the chariot Johnson was destroyed by the Panther hoard. And the Worm Sperm anger against Prince Damon was rekindled. And his Croyle lust grew, but Croyle had not yet rested enough to lead the army of Arrowhead. So the Worm Sperm unleashed the Pigpen and had Prince Damon flogged. But the Pigpen stinketh, and the Worm Sperm was puzzled and perplexed and wandered the battlefield as if without his mind. And the army of Arrowhead was torn asunder until the Worm Sperm ordered its retreat.

And lo the scribes that wrote praises and tributes for King Carl and his harlot Worm Sperm were dumbfounded and afflicted for words. And the people, hearing of the humiliating defeat of the army of Arrowhead were seething in their anger against King Carl and his harlot Worm Sperm, and they cursed the false god Clark.

And the lord looked down upon the great tribulation that was the city of Arrowhead and said "Woe, Woe unto Arrowhead." And the lord said unto me "Go and prophesy unto the people this warning. Tell the people that the lord sayeth the land of Arrowhead will not be blessed until the red blood of Arrowhead is drained away. The righteous must cover their heads in sackcloth to not look upon the evil that infects Arrowhead. And the righteous must not enter into the gates of Arrowhead and gave not their treasure to the idol Clark, for he and King Carl and the Worm Sperm have sinned a great sin."

And then the lord spake this promise, "I hear the prayers of the righteous and am testing them. Verily I say the day of deliverance is coming. They that obey my words will store up much treasure. For I am preparing a great feast to celebrate the day King Carl and the Worm Sperm are cast out. And the righteous will enter a new kingdom and will be rewarded."

Crane - I was talking about that on the live chat earlier today. I was so embarrassed for the Chiefs. It couldn't have been anymore anti-climatic. The needed 10 yards or whatever for a first down so they throw it five yards to tony who is tackled immediately... what the hell. It really upset me. The Chiefs better do something for him in 2 weeks at home. It was just pathetic today.

Also, can we please stop waiting to use JC till the 2nd half?!?! The guy is fast. fast. fast. What happened to using both Tony and Cottom? I am so sick of this anemic offense. If you guys think about it I bet we can guess what the exact play that Herm is going to run 75% of the time! He is too predictable and he doesn't have the OLine to play the way he wants to and he's too stubborn to do anything else. I thought Chan was going to change things, but he hasn't. Shock, it all comes back to the qb though doesn't it?

MasterBlaster-

You might not have seen it, but I mentioned in my piece Friday how Herm did want to be a GM all along, from his days with Tony Dungy

Well...the 09 draft is going really well.

Yah know, I was thinking, can we make Herm Edwards the new GM?

I mean, he can't coach; but he has an amazing eye for tallent in the draft. Isn't that about text book perfect for a GM?

Oh, and im back on the fence about trading LJ. At this point, I almost want to ship him to a team that has a chance of going to a super bowl.

Yah know, I payed 240 bucks for NFL Sunday Ticket cause I live in Vegas now. Can I get a refund? I mean seriously. Do you guys think that game was worth 15 bucks? I didn't even watch the whole thing. Some where in the 3rd I hit my TIVO fast forward. Just wanted to put the damn thing outa its missery haha.

To all of you who think we are heading in the right direction do me a favor: Wake up! Did it look like we we're heading in the right direction while watching the game? That was the worst blow out of the years..Easily.. That was the worst game the chiefs have played in 20 years..Read Posnanski's article..Herm and the team seem to not even be that pissed about the game..

This is complete BS...Do you really believe Herm is the right person for the job? If you do, I really don't know where your heads at..It would seem to me that you are indeed insane..Seriously..

Can we quit blaming everything on rebuilding? That is a terrible excuse..So is the fact that this is all some how vermeils fault..I guess we should just blame vermeils first two years on Gunther Cunningham and his two years on Marty then right? Wake up to reality folks..Quit being ignorant..Even if it is the players job to play, we should have a coach that is plugging in players that are capable of playing.

Hey Herm: How does that arena league scoring effort seem now? Do you still want to diss it, you fucking idiot! This guy loved mediocrity

I for one am not down with LJ being traded, for the record.

Did anyone else share my experience of feeling that Tony G's record breaking catch was one of the most anti-climactic records I've ever seen broken? Herm ought to be ashamed of himself for not letting him get that at home in front of friends and family...and more ashamed for what he told Tony about it - a general quote "When you are putting on that jacket at the Hall of Fame induction it won't matter and we will look back and laugh about it..."

That's a bullshit thing to say to someone with as much class as Tony, considering what he has done with his loyalty to KC...seeing him break that record and toss the ball to the sidelines made me more mad at Herm than happy for Tony. He deserved a home crowd standing O for that, at least the Carolina crowd gave him a smattering of applause.

Again, we need to hang on to LJ, he's leading the AFC in rushing for God's sake (at least he was before today). That's saying something. And you're right, Dave, I don't see another win on the schedule, maybe until the Bengals game.
