    • Adam : Macho Man...oh NO!
    • Randy5k : Savage is gone
    • GoShooterGo : Savage Sucked anyway!
    • Randy5k : I hope it includes all that
    • mushin : Well Savage has been released. I was really rooting for the guy, but if you can't cut it, you gots to go. That includes everyone from the GM to the flippin towel boy after this season
    • Randy5k : how long before he is suspended
    • Randy5k : Well Jared cant peform up to expectations for the Vikes so now he turns to dirty play
    • Adam : Do you ever really want to be complacent in your failures?
    • Randy5k : entering.........R....E.......M stag-es
    • Randy5k : yawn.........slowly entering REM stages
    • Randy5k : I have to say Ive been disappointed in some of the players refusal to accept rsponsibility this year too
    • Randy5k : Yeah but he makes you feel good about your failures!!!!
    • Adam : I don't know...he's the only player's coach I've ever seen who doesn't put any of the blame on his own shoulders. No accountability.
    • Randy5k : he is a terrible game day coach! If you are a player and you got your girl pregnant or you are feeling a little down he is the coach you need.
    • kcchiefsfan56 : with herm it comes down to one thing...he cant gameplan he cant matchup with bellichek and dungy's of the nfl
    • Randy5k : uh huh
    • Adam : Could be.
    • Randy5k : I think he did that with both LJ and Curtis Martin
    • Randy5k : I have to say if I was a RB I wouldnt want to play for Herm he runs you into the ground
    • Adam : knew
    • Adam : Probably right on L.J., but the problem was that the Saints new what was coming by the way we were lined up. That is why the Thiggy draw on that mid-field third and short worked. And what about the Wildcat down on the GL? Maybe even have Larry throw there. It worked so well, why not keep running it until they stop it?
    • Sudden : wouldve cracked it at some point
    • Sudden : and although I agree with most of your observations on LJ (he did block pretty well), I still think we could've and should've just pounded him into that line four times if need be
    • Sudden : I like the idea of running a five wide spread draw with Thiggy when its inside the five
    • Adam : draw
    • Adam : Maybe, but the challenge there was idiotic. Almost as dumb as running L.J. again. Why not boot or drwa with Tyler (or even sneak)?
    • Sudden : I'm still pissed about that LJ TD call. That looked in as clear as day on the replay
    • Adam : I suspect a new coach would take notice of Tyler's strengths and take them into consideration when hiring staff and designing an offense, too.
    • Adam : I thought L.J. played his heart out today. Even blocked well. His ballhandling was sloppy, but he's been idle for a month.
    • Dwaynebowefan82 : Is it me is does it seem like LJ isnt even trying?
    • kcchiefsfan56 : yea but if we bring in a new coach he'll hire his own D and O Corrdinators and most likely switch back to the prototypical nfl offense and i dont think thigpen can suceed in that offense
    • Adam : Not a new coach means everybody WILL struggle. Hate to come out and say that, but deep down we all know it's true.
    • kcchiefsfan56 : yea but a new coach means new philosphy and new philoshpy means tyler could struggle
    • Adam : Well, yes...and no. We're going to need a great draft pick...and a new coach. Plus, Tyler played well.
    • kcchiefsfan56 : wow wat a bummer huh guys?

PO’ed About Chiefs

As I mentioned last week, I have a new feature over at FOX Sports which will appear every Tuesday and link out to breakdowns for each division. Here is what Broncos blogger Kim from Predominantly Orange had to say about the Chiefs in her in-depth look at the state of the AFC West after Week 4.

Kansas City Chiefs (1-3):

Looking Back: The Chiefs must have talked to the Miami Dolphins last week after they stunned New England because the Chiefs came into the game with the right mindset. It appears that they found their answer at QB for now. They went back to Damon Huard (21-28, 160 yards, 1 TD), and it paid dividends for them. He didn’t have the most impressive game, but they got the win, and Herm Edwards gets to keep his job for now. Larry Johnson was like a little kid on Christmas, and Derrick Johnson was like a bear raiding a large campsite with 5 tackles, a forced fumble, and an interception. I’m sure that Jay Cutler was having nightmares about him last night. The Broncos had nearly 70 more total yards than the Chiefs, but the Chiefs managed to keep them out of the endzone, and that was the difference maker. That put an end to their 12-game losing streak and it makes them the best team in Missouri. There’s a reason to crack open a cold one!

Looking Forward:  They head east next week to play the Carolina Panthers (3-1). A boost in confidence may help keep the game close, but the Panthers should come out victorious in this one. Jake Delhomme is a good QB, but sometimes he can let his emotions get the best of him. Earlier this season, he was sacked five times and had three forced fumbles against the Vikings. If the Chiefs can frustrate Delhomme like they did Cutler, then they’ve got a shot at winning. Major questions will come up over the next couple of weeks as to who will finish the season as the Chiefs QB. Will it be Huard if he continues to play well, or will Brodie Croyle get his job back when he returns from injury? Either way, I’m sure the Chiefs don’t want to fall to far down in the draft. After all, they’re not playoff contenders this year.

Head over there to get the full AFC West scoop.

Meanwhile, in my article I muster the courage to give Herm Edwards a compliment. OK, well, at least a left-handed compliment. King Carl was not so lucky. From FOX:

Herm Edwards actually called a decent game Sunday. The problem is that it took the Preacher 12 consecutive NFL Sundays to give his Red and Gold congregation a service worth showing up for. I’m surprised notoriously cheap Chiefs GM Carl Peterson wasn’t stalking the Arrowhead aisles with a donations basket.

The rest is about the two completely worthless NFL teams in Ohio. Check it out, as you might actually enjoy me bagging on a state other than our own (well, at least for Missourians) for once.
