Post-Game Thread: Chiefs Dead Horse Broncos

by Gameday

What a game! Brandon Carr is a stud, Derrick Johnson actually played like a star, Larry Johnson was as good as ever (that’s what happens when we actually get a lead, L.J. haters) and Damon Huard managed the game effictively. That’s what happens when we have quarterback play that’s just good enough to keep the defense off the field. Go Chiefs! The 11-game losing streak is over, and its over at the expense of the Broncos.

Addicts, what did you think about the big win over the Donks?

in the words of bill grigsby, that was beeee-autiful.

Oh and Sudden... Same here! People said I was an idiot for trading Stephen Jackson AND Santana Moss for L.J.

Now what!?

(and the guy I traded S. Moss to, dropped him and Santana rocked today too! Hahaha!)

Granted this doesnt mean that we're going to the playoffs... BUT OH MY GOD!

What a win!!

I NEVER lost hope in L.J. Just when some of you are talking all that shit about how we should trade him for this and trade him for that. Blah blah blah... The game and win today shows just what he means to this team and how big a factor he is.

Damon did great too. Granted he threw for less than 200 yards, he didnt throw any picks and he was 21/28. That has to count for something.

I know Brodie can do similar work if not better (considering his mobility). But overall, it goes to show yet again... Get L.J. the ball 20-30 times and watch him torch the shit outta guy.

L.J. ALL DAY!

GO CHIEFS!!

Good Game, Good Game.

Isn't it unreal how well the 08 draft went? And for that matter, how well the last few years of "Herm picks" have gone?

Ok, Ok now settle down team

MASTER BLASTER'S MASTER PLAN

It's good to win one, once in a while. I dont want our team geting a complex. And they won the right way. They won off the shoulders of our young tallent. But dont you guys be going on any streaks. We need 1 more good high draft in 09. (MasterBlaster places his bet on the dont come line)

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sorry I couldn't be with you boys on our first win. Spent time with the fam today.

Do we know how badly Brandon is hurt? I hope he isnt going to be injury prone.

The playcalling was still bad in spots, but overall, I'd give it a 8/10. Not too shabby, we did alot of things better. And yet again, this solidifies the question of "why wasn't Herb Taylor IN THE LINEUP (pre-Albert injury." Did the coaches think he was injury prone? What's the deal.. He came in at LT, and everything still ran smoothly, and he didn't get a big play against him. When Albert comes back healthy, I want that man PLAYING, period.

Another comment about the lines; only the D side this time.. People have been bashing our ends.. Our DE's are fine people. At least Turk McBride. I told you, he's alot better against the run than Jared was. We may not get 15 sacks out of him, but overall the production will still be there, even if you can't see it, most times. And our DT's? I bashed on them before.. but today, Tank and Dorsey, and especially TANK! were all over the place. They played fired up, (as did our whole team,) and just wreaked havoc. It was a great thing to watch. Hopefully this win instills confidence in our young guys, and they play at a higher level because of it. We need them.

The Flower and Carr tandem is going to be great. I was hesitant to say Carr was a stud until we saw him against proven competition.. (although he did well against the Cardinals in the pre-season, but it was just that.. pre-season.) Today he REALLY impressed, and Flowers played like a high first rounder, not a high second rounder. They're both shaping up to be studs, and the idea of Pat Surtain moving to nickel like.. NOW, is appealing. Maybe it's still a bit premature, but we saw what our young guys can do, let's roll with it.

LJ, well, what can you say about LJ.. He smiled today. He hasn't smiled (from a football standpoint) in 11 months, since we beat Oakland. That's a good thing to see, and he ran hard as hell today. Especially the long ass run in the first couple of drives, it set the tone for the day.

I could go on and on, but right now I'm just going to sit back, and enjoy the win, and check on my fantasy team.

Now I hope we dont start making some trades that are going to piss me off.

Report from Arrowhead: Everyone was afraid we were going down that same old road when we kicked and missed for the third 3 pointer after blowing 3 touchdown runs. THEN WOW THE CROWD got into it, I was very surprised at the showing, looked 3/4 full, loud as ever! MAN ITS OVER I think this team can keep me for another year. WE HAVE THE SAME RECORD AS THE VIKINGS NOW WAS ALL THAT MONEY FOR JARED WORTH IT? This is what can happen when you have a QB thats got talent and leadership skills

I love it. I went to my usual Sunday morning bar here in L.A. for the game and there were a couple of Donkeys fans there. I made sure they knew who the better team is. And everyone in my fantasy league laughed at me and called me a homer when I traded Jones-Drew for LJ. I look like a genius right now.

The young guys needed to feel this ... I think this game made a lot of fans feel good ... the Arrowhead crowd was pretty solid, credit to them.

I'm a huge LJ guy,so today way a celeration for me. My 17 month old son had his LJ jersey on also, and I felt the MOJO. Our D shut down the "high powered" Donks ... Were there lows? Yes. We could have scored touchdowns on the first two drives. But Huard played as he should, and our young D played awesome ... Thank God that we can feel that "high point" .... there will be a few here and there, as well as some really low points ... but against Denver, this win feels AWESOME.

Apparently, you are telepathic. I thought the Shermanator had a better chance of staring as the Riddler in the third Batman movie than we did of winning. I was wrong.

I believe I was the one that called it today from the AA staff :)

And Demorrio Williams needs to start from now on!

Good game..Larry was a beast..Huard deserves credit..I know a lot of people don't like him but the guy has won more than he has lost as a starter..He's our best chance at winnning..I haven't seen Larry run that well since the 2006 season..We'd be 2-2 right now if Huard had been left in charge since Brodie has been injured..Anyways, this doesn't change my feelings towards Herm..I'd like him gone

I always thought we should be playing Demorrio. He was fired up today. Great game. Of course the one time I bet on Denver on a "sure thing" the Chiefs teach me another valuable lesson. I'll take donations to bet against them next week for hopefully the same result.

That was unbelievable! 4 turnovers? Better D without Donnie? Novak kicking it into the end-zone? This is like some kind of reverse Twilight Zone.

Someday our QB will have time for more than 1 or 2 reads, and our D-line will get consitant pressure. When that day comes we will be VERY good. These guys have some passion.

Yeah, a huge win, it was great. Amazing what can happen when you don't play Tyler Thigpen.
The play-calling for the most part was 100,000x times better, I loved the passes and play-actions on first down, we actually looked like an NFL team that knew what they were doing on offense.

A great win and hopefully a good start, but at the end it made me sick to see Carl Peterson down on the sidelines. Hopefully this is the first step of many in the right direction, but I'm still heavy on the lose Herm and Peterson campaign.

Go Chiefs!!!

this feels amazing i teared up too..i cant even think of the words its been so long since i felt this and we chiefs fans we stuck it through all the way and were all in this to the end i’ve never been prouder to be a chiefs fan!!

GO CHIEFS!!

I will not lie... I got so very emotional in the final minutes I teared up a small amount (NOT CRYING)…and then realized it was a single win…and how pathetic it was…But it was just a very emotional, hard-fought battle…

- Rookie corners looked great…
-Pass-Blocking looked better…even without Albert (it IS Denver tho)
-I still had a problem with some play-calling in the end, when we ran on 3rd and 4 or whatever instead of PA to Tony…which would have gotten a TD AND the record…but we settled for a FG
- With that said, the play-calling on the TD drive before that was outstanding…the quick-fakes, the end-around fake…all were very very satisfying…
-DJ looked great….

oh my, i love the Chiefs…

MAN THIS FEELS GREAT!!!...GREAT WIN BOYS LETS KEEP THIS SHIT GOIN!!!
