Branden Albert Injury Update: Hyperextended Elbow
According to the Kansas City Star, Branden Albert has a hyperextended elbow and will likely be out when the Chiefs visit Carolina next Sunday. I’d guess that he’ll be back after the bye week, the same week Brodie Croyle is scheduled back. Until then, we’ll get a good look at Herb Taylor, who filled in admirably today.
It could have been worse, too. On TV, due to the angle, it kind of looked like he hurt his right knee. Thankfully, that didn’t happen. This is much less severe than it could have been. I also don’t think he’s injury prone. It isn’t uncommon for an O-lineman to have someone fall on them and injure them at the tail end of the play.

thank god hes only gonna be out 1 week, when he comes back to full health, we should move herb to the right side in place of mcintosh.
September 28th, 2008 at 9:13 pmYes…but what about the sweet music of his violin concherto’s.
I dunno about moving herb to the right. Lets cheap shot mcintosh’s trombone sliding elbow and see how Barry Richardson does.
September 29th, 2008 at 12:03 amYea…he looked pretty pathetic on that cart, wincing and whatnot…especially when they said it was an elbow thing…BUT I am overjoyed that it is not a knee problem…

September 29th, 2008 at 1:26 amHey, get off of “Mac”’s back! He played extremely well the last 2wks actually. Props to the guy, give em when he deserves em! He was attached to them pony boys at the shoulder all day!!!
September 29th, 2008 at 7:15 amSemi-ditto to what theKansasgonian just said. D-Mac really stepped up yesterday. Won’t go so far as to say he played great against Atlanta though - that sack he allowed on the very first play pretty much set the tone for the day.
Let’s hope yesterday was the first sign of better things to come from him.
September 29th, 2008 at 9:03 amPart of him looking decent was having Damon in.. He got rid of the ball extremely fast, and that was HUGE. I’m surprised noones picked up on that. Brodie/Thigpen (especially Thigpen,) tend to hold on to the ball a bit longer than our O-line, especially the right side, can handle. The fact that LJ started off at a tremendous pace, and Damon getting the ball out of the pocket blazingly fast (so it seemed,) we looked good, even damn good.
September 29th, 2008 at 5:59 pmI agree xxxlp. Damon is getting rid of the ball a lot faster than the other qb’s. And as far as D-Mac at tackle, I saw a couple of plays where LJ ran into his back cuz he was getting pushed backward and/or at least not blocking forward as he should have been. But all in all, the o-line did play a lot better in this game. Might have had something to do with LJ’s big run right away. It kinda fired everyone up. Feels good knowing that Arrowhead still has a little magic left in her.(especially for Denver)
Speaking of Denver………..hey Soap Opera and Worst Team…where are ya now. Come back and tell us some more about your invincible Broncos.
Told ya not to kick anyone when they are down………didn’t I?
Go Cheifs!!
