Good to see Herm come to his senses and start Thigpen instead of Huard. A week too late, but oh well. Now, he has to make the same decision replacing the waste of time known as Damion McIntosh wityh Barry Richardson or Herb Taylor.

I actually linked that Brady site in my Vick article, but thanks for the update, Jeremy. All of the updates! I'll have more on Thigpen soon--just disgusted right now.

QUAID’S LOOSE LIPS FORCE FALCONS TO SCRAMBLE
Posted by Mike Florio on September 17, 2008, 6:44 p.m.
A source in Atlanta tells us that the Falcons invited actor Dennis Quaid to attend practice on Wednesday, as part of Quaid’s promotion of his new film, The Express.

As part of his visit, Quaid got some inside information about what the Falcons plan to do this weekend against the Chiefs.

And then Quaid blabbed to the press about it.

We’re told that the Falcons then called various media outlets and essentially begged them not to use the tape.

Regarding the content, all we know is that Quaid said something about an unbalanced line.

Nice Hammer.

Check out this website chiefs fans.

Wednesday, 5:01 p.m.
Chiefs fans, perhaps upset with today's announcement that Tyler Thigpen will start at QB against the Falcons, have launched a Web site to campaign the team to bring in a new QB. From TheBigLead.com:

"With the struggles of Derek Anderson and the Cleveland offense -- tied for last in points per game and third to last in yards per game; this week, good luck in Baltimore -- we can't see the Browns parting with Brady Quinn. But don't let that get in the way of hopeful Chiefs' fans, who have started a Get Brady Now Web site."

The complete Big Lead story is here.

Holy shit someone actually is respecting Thigpen and wanting to give him a fair shake? I think I'm going to go poke pencils into my eyes, so I never have to read anything like that again. Seriously? Just basing things off pre-season, Thiglet (and I'm not going to go look up his stats or I'll beat my head against the wall for an hour because I know he's starting this week,) had the WORST stats I've ever seen for a QB. I don't think I need to keep mentioning the O'fer. And the one for -5. Yeesh. Casey Printers was the ONLY QB last pre-season to move the ball effectively, and look damn good doing it, and we simply boot the guy. IMO we'd be ALOT better off, had we just kept Printers, and never acquired Thigpen. After another year in the offense, BETTER playcalling (well, ha, that hasn't worked out so far!) better line, and more work with the first team WR/TE/RB/FB, I think it'd be nice.

And again.. for everyone who doesn't get it.. We knew the Chiefs would be bad. Well, maybe not BAD bad, but we knew they'd have.. let's say.. 'a rough road ahead'? We knew it wasn't going to be peachy the whole way through. We're not freaking out because of that. During the off-season, we were promised change. We knew it would take time to get what we want, but there were some things that were supposed to be immediate. Even when Brodie and Damon were in, our playcalling was plain shit. *Btw, wtf is up with no playaction? Like 3-4 years ago, we used to be THE playaction team in the league.* Of course, when Thigpen had to come in, legitimately, a 3rd stringer.. you're supposed to scale back the offense and take it easy.. But he ran the EXACT SAME THING. That's my problem.

Chan was supposed to be innovative.. Supposed to be able to get everything out of our guys. I bashed Solari senseless for having crappy playcalling, but all along, it may have been Herm. If so, I don't care who it is, someone; the owner, GM, SOMEONE needs to tell Herm to get his hands out of the offensive cookie jar. That and the fact that Thigpen has absolutely no touch.. Even a third stringer in the NFL is supposed to be able to throw it fairly accurately and with the right amount of zing. You don't bullet it to your FB when he's 5 yards away from you. You don't lob it when your WR is 15 yards downfield wide open. But he has. Those are my problems.

Otherwise; I think the defense looks OK.. They have the same problem we've had for years.. They're simply on the field too long.. but other than that, they look OK. Especially the secondary. The O.. I see great promise in the line.. at least the left side of it + Herb Taylor, and maybe Barry Richardson, if he develops. With depth (and with depth comes competition) I see them working out nicely. At FB I'm happy for the first time since Tony Richardson left. That's fine as well. RB's.. well, on paper we're better than we have been in awhile. But that's on paper. WR we're obviously moving in the right direction, especially if Franklin comes along like we hoped. And at TE, Cottam is virtually the Brodie of TE's. He's good, and shows flashes of brilliance at times, and then he'll get hurt. I told you guys this from the beginning. But overall, I think we ARE improving.. We're just handicapped by shoddy playcalling and shoddy personnel moves. That's all I'm sayin'. It is what it is.

I am fine with Thigpen getting the start. I am not a Huard fan, and although it might be painful, it is painful with Huard. Damon has really taken a step back. He know longer has the arm and seems to lack the desire (I see too much one, two, lay down).

I just hope that they put him in a position to be successful. I want to see play action passes down the field. Even if they are incomplete, we have to stretch the field or we will see Larry for 1 yard all year. Until we can pass on first down we are going to see 8 and 9 in the box, and we will not run the ball effectively.

I'm of mixed mind on who should start @ QB. On one hand, Thiglet's timing and game skills should improve by having him practice and then play with the first team. On the other hand, I sort of feel that having an immobile pocket passer might force our OL to focus on improving its pass blocking.
