For me, the worst moment of the game was when I realized that the Chiefs weren’t going to stop trying to go to the dry Marques Hagans well. Chan Gailey totally had the Raiders confused with that genius gimmick. Way to go, Chiefs! Brilliant!

I don’t even know what to say about that game. It was the ONLY time in my life that I begged Huard to be our QB … or Croyle even! And for the 100th time, why did our zone-cut-back running disappear after the Chicago preseason game? Man I miss that. That game was a joke … I am convinced we have no hope of winning a single game this year. Did you see the Denver game? Shanny has guts … we don’t.

When I saw what’s-his-name in there at QB, it felt like a college game. I have no idea who that QB is, but he is a waste of a roster spot if he can’t throw one single pass.
I feel like we hit rock bottom. To the Raiders?! Complete embarrassment. The Thigpen experiment has to stop now. Let him go, he will not be a NFL qb. Those throws were just plain horrible. Looking at it, we still need 3 OL starters for next year. I’m not convinced Rudy Nuiswanger and Jones are the answer. I think we all agree D Mac is not an upgrade over Black or Svitek.
I liked spurts of our D. But as kcchiefsfan56 said, you can’t keep your D out there that long and expect them to hold.
The question is now, what do we do at QB? Do we have the answer on the roster? I don’t think so.

I don’t think Croyle could have won us that game. Why? Because our running game was a joke. LJ had 22 yards? That’s just not right. The QB play is awful, but so is the O-Line … it’s been our 2 weaknesses for a while now … Quinn and cower? That’s not going to happen. I would be pretty happy with Quinn though, but it’s not going to happen.

I can’t believe I spent the three miserable hours that game took, and will never get that time back. I had to sit in a bar in Atlanta and listen to the three Raider fans that happened to be there holler about their team. Worst moment? I can’t even seriously narrow that down. Does ANYONE know why we yanked Huard? Seriously? He’s not exactly Montana, but Thigpen shouldn’t have been on the field. He’s a camp arm at best, maybe a practice squad player. We seriously have more holes than I ever thought we did, on BOTH offense and defense. Not going after some of the free agent linemen (mainly centers and guards) that were out there this year should get somebody fired. Where the heck was DJ today? 3rd and 4, less than two minutes left, you think they might run the freakin’ ball? Horrible. We may actually go winless this year, which I never thought I would say.
All of you need to lay the fuck off of Thiggy already. He didn’t get a single rep with the first string guys all preseason/camp/practices. Huard got hurt, that’s why they put Thigpen in and he had to try and make chicken salad out of chicken shit without a run game to save him. All of you Brodie defenders that say you can’t evaluate a QB without a run game and serviceable pass protection need to MAN THE F UP and give Thigs the same benefit of the doubt. Did he wow me? No. But he did, after getting booed off the field by fans that I thought must’ve been from my home of L.A. the way you guys jumped ship, come back and throw a TD to at least avoid the embarrassment of a shutout. I say give him a real evaluation. Have him take the first team snaps, give him the start next week. With that piss poor oline play, Huard will just plain die. Get the kid a chance in a real game after having practiced. And for God’s sake, Chan, what happened to running the damn ball? Isn’t that what we brought him here for? Believe me, I’m just as pissed with this game as anyone (especially because I have a lot of Raiders fan friends who I kept having to remind that we still lead the alltime series 50-44), but don’t throw Thigpen under the bus when the whole fucking offense collapsed around him and he hadn’t had a single rep with any starter. Passing is about rhythm with a reciever you know after all.
Quinn Gray or Brady Quinn? Either one would be a substantially exponential upgrade over Thigpen. Hell; I’D BE AN UPGRADE OVER THIGPEN. I think the running game is fine, it’s the playcalling that stinks. When we bring in 2 tight ends, a fullback, and have Thigpen in there, yeah the defense knows we’re going to run. And run we did. There was no creativity at all. We need to spread the D out, get some tosses, quick pitches and/or counters, mix in play-action passes, get some underneath routes working, I don’t care if we dink and dunk the whole game, as long as we take at least one deep shot, and we actually move the ball. We didn’t do crap. I’m angry.
On a sidenote, pertaining to the AA league: WTF is this crap about not being able to see the stats? I’m not gonna waste money on stat-tracker just for this league =/ I’m a poor, cheap bastard. And really I’m not in a football mood now, with as crappy as we looked. I thought for sure we’d come out big against the Raiders. Props to them, we got smoked like a ham at Christmas time.

The worst moment of this game was the moment the fans left. I live in L.A., full of fairweather fans that don’t show up for losing teams and hop on the latest bandwagon to come along. I have always taken pride in the fact that my small market midwestern team will always have a faithful following filling the field with red. The fans are abandoning this team. And that is not just the worst moment of this game, that is the saddest revelation about a once-proud heritage that Lamar built.

Worst moment…it has to be the appearence of Hagans or whatever his name is. This team is an absolute disgrace to every decent player to put on a chiefs uniform. Does anybody else realize that the two quarterbacks we player today were both picked up off other teams F*UCKING PRACTICE SQUADS.
I have lived in KC my whole life and have always been a chiefs fan…but if heads don’t roll by the end of the season, basically if Herm is still coach and Carl is still GM…I will no longer be a fan of the chiefs. People can say what they will about me losing faith or the rest of chiefs nation, but I refuse as others should also refuse to accept this PIECE OF SHIT team that the higher ups have put togeather.

Im not gona sit here and throw Herm and Thighpen under the bus. That is knee jerk. What you guys just saw today is how important a franchise QB is to a winning team. We have lots and lots of new tallent on this team; but, without an adiquate field general, it just all falls apart.
I still think we should try and pick up Brady Quinn. Im watching the Browns and Anderson carefully this season to figure how probable that would be.
Forget drafting a top QB in 09…its a weak class. Keep trying to get Quinn. And, I also think go after Brohm if you cant get Quinn.

I seriously think we should trade him while his value is high enough for a good pick. I think he deserves to be on a contending team and not a rebuilding team. Clearly with this play calling, i think any RB could take his place right now. LJ is a really good running back, he should be behind a good O-line. Lets trade him and draft ourselves a tebow and a All american MLB. Or trade for patrick willis

I don’t like it, but every game will be like a pre-season game until Management decides that they have all the pieces in place and are ready to win.
Just like where I work, Management has the right to decide the method and means of how to run the company.
Other employees, outside groups, and I all think we know what is best, but when it comes down to it, we are the employees and we have the duty to do our job how our Management tells us to (hear me LJ?).
You would think at the NFL level that an off-season would be enough time to get the team ready, but obviously it wasn’t.
What stinks is that from the owner on down, I believe they are all on board with this trial and error season, and you know what, I might just be fine with it if they told us all the truth, but you and I know they won’t because they want a s s e s in the seats.
Welll… That was cute and all but heres the fact of the f*cking matter. This ISNT the pre-season. What do teams play for every year? Is it to hope to be .500? Is it to make it to the playoffs? I have Derrick Johnson, Larry Johnson, Donnie Edwards, Tony Gonzalez, Priest Holmes, and Derrick Thomas jerseys, 5 Chiefs T-Shirts, Chiefs shorts, banners, figures, etc. Over my front door of my house, I have a street sight saying “K.C. Chiefs Ave.”. My office is a shrine to KC, I buy the DirecTv Sunday Ticket ($200) every year, I go to at least one game a year (being that I live in California), Ive turned my girlfriend and my bulldog into Chiefs fans…. I spend time and money (and even energy) on this football team. As I am sure A LOT of us here do as well. But this cannot be what we get in return. A season for evaluation. I dont wanna sit here with my dog and my girlfriend yelling at the TV because of the disaster that is our team. I used to look at Herm and respect him. Now, after today… I look at him in a completely different light. He looks like someone who is SO stubborn and cant get his head outta his ass. Why do you think he always says “I dont read the papers, internet blogs, or listen to NFL analysts”? Because he doesnt wanna hear or read the truth. Carl Peterson has bought into Herms philosophy of going young, and YES I agree with it too… To a certain extent. When we have 5 guys(Donnie Edwards, Larry Johnson, Tony Gonzalez, Brian Waters, and Pat Surtain) in the ENTIRE starting lineup with ENOUGH experience to call themselves TRUE veterans… THATS A PROBLEM!
Ever since Herm came in, our team has been on a slow and l o n g decline.
And I REFUSE the believe that we suck as a team. I refuse to believe that our players suck. Cause THEY DONT… I keep trying to figure out where we can make some adjustments… But I cant find anything (besides the right side of our O-line)… I mean, think about it….
-Our D-Line has SO much potential. And I believe that those 4 guys (Hali, Dorsey, Tank, and Turk) can become a huge force one day in the NFL. LET THEM PLAY!
-Our Linebackers: Derrick Johnson has been great since he came outta college. Yeah, he had a bad game today, but who didnt? DJ is gonna be great. Donnie Edwards may be coming to the end. As much as I love the guy, it may be time. Pat Thomas is NOT our MLB. Kawika Mitchell was a better leader than Pat Thomas. DeMorrio Williams showed me some life when they put him in the game and I think that he will be able to at least play Outside LB.
-Our Corners look good! The Brandon Boys worked hard today and I’m proud of them. Pat Surtain was injured today, but against a NeW England team that domniated last year in the recieving game, he showed up.
-Page and Pollard are almost there. ESPECIALLY Pollard. They both have a little ways to go, but they are NFL players.
-On offense, we have (in my opinion) the Best TE to ever play the game in Tony Gonzalez.
-We have caplable WRs who can play if given the chance (D.Bowe, DVD, and Jeff Webb)
-We have a RB who in 2005 set a new franchise record of 1,750 rushing yards in one season, despite not starting 7 games during the season and rushed for 1,789 yards in 2006. Holds the records for the NFL single season rushing attempts (416), most consecutive rushing touchdowns for a team without a teammate scoring a rushing touchdown (35), AND the all-time NFL record for most rushing yards after November 1 in a season … So DONT TELL ME THIS GUY ISNT CAPABLE!

Worst moment of this game was when the Chiefs showed up unprepared with no gameplan for either side of the ball. They hardly played the run on defense allowing the Raiders to run all over them for 300 yards when their QB couldn’t hit a mountain with the football. Then the offense had no clue about anything…
Im not sure I agree with all the negatives after a day of careful reflecton (at work). I was dreading the 50 point beat down predicted against the Patriots, yet it didnt happen. What did happen is we lost our first string quarterback to injuries. Whatever you think of him we lost him. Huard is too worn out to rely on as a starter, now he is out with a rang bell. We played the game with third and forth string qb’s and almost held it to an 8 point loss. We have a kicker we can rely on this year, didnt even have that last year. No sack king ever follows up a year like Jared had with another, and it doesnt look like Jared will so that trade is paying off in my opinion.
