According to our good friends over at Arrowhead Pride, ex-Cowboys back-up QB Richard Bartel is working out for the Chiefs today. Here’s what Dan from our sister (and I do mean sister) site The Landry Hat had to say about Bartel:
Cowboys fans knew Richard Bartel’s future was over in Dallas when he threw an interception in a preseason game against Denver when the Cowboys were driving to win. That may sound petty, but that’s when a guy has to shine. He didn’t. Before that, the Tarleton State graduate only saw eight minutes of action, which was last year in another preseason game. But it is not a surprise Bartel has found himself in Kansas City for a tryout. It won’t be a surprise if he makes the team, either. It is only a matter of time before Chiefs devoted fans give up on Brodie Croyle, and it could mean the coaches turn to the kid from Tarleton State, who we all know they are banking on hopes he will be the next Tony Romo. Keep dreaming, guys. He sucks.
Two things: A.) Richard Bartel’s name reminds me of ex-pro wrestler Rick “The Model” Martel; and B.) Go give The Landry Hat some hell. Hopefully, Jinxica Simpson will cost them another “W” this week.
