Chiefs Fix: Thursday Links

  • Brady Quinn to the Chiefs. Kent Babb, I like your style. On the other hand, I’m not that sure the Browns are ready to part with him. I have a hunch that Derek Anderson’s best days are behind him now that the league has figured him out. – The Kansas City Star
  • Al Saunders and Eddie Kennison are back together again, and back in St. Louis for a second tour of duty. How sweet. Best of luck, Eddie. You were a good Chief. – NFL Fanhouse
  • Samie Parker is nothing more thanĀ  “a grotesque, in-season tryout” for the Seahawks. Music to my ears. – Field Gulls
  • Comparing Raiders fans to stray dogs and a quality preview of this Sunday’s game. – Arrowhead Pride
  • A look at how the Chiefs’ Chan-fueled offense matches up with the Silver and Black defense. – Home of the Chiefs
  • Blog Gretz reminds us that the Chiefs are officially the youngest, least experienced team in the NFL. Great. I can already see Carl Peterson and Herm Edwards sitting in Clark Hunt’s offense after another 4-12 season…

“Clark, we’re the youngest team in the league, a bunch of babies. Just think about how good we’ll be in three years? If you fire us, they’ll never get there. Remember, this was only year two of our five-year plan.” – Carl

“That’s right. We’ll play to win the game…it’s just gonna be a couple of seasons before it actually happens.” – Herm

“Uh…OK.” – Clark

Later on, I’ll have the scoop on Ingle Martin from a Tennessee Titans insider who also knew Martin when they were growing up in Tennessee…

I thought the Chiefs should have traded up one spot to grab Quinn a year ago but then we wouldn’t have ended up with Bowe. Getting Quinn now and having Bowe as a target would be nice but I don’t see it happening. I agree that Anderson’s best days are behind him and the Brown’s brass probably have the same concern. I am surprised they didn’t get rid of Anderson while his stock was high.

I sure would love to see Quinn in a Chiefs uni though!
