Matt Reiss points out that the Patriots could also be interested in Daunte Culpepper. This may just be speculation based on Daunte’s history with Randy Moss. Obviously, they are also interested in Chris Simms, because NBC reported that he will visit the Pats ASAP.
If the Chiefs are also looking for a quarterback–and we should be, dammit!–the Pats might have first pick. Sucks…
(hat tip: Reiss’s Pieces)

Yes Huard doesn’t have a future? What do we plan on doing about it? Do we honestly think we’re going to find the answer in free agency? No we’re not..Why bring in another veteran when who doesn’t know the offense or have an already existing chemistry with the players in this offense..Huard has all of that..Relax, Brodie will be back (maybe not) but while he’s out Huard will actually get us some touchdowns..
By the way, Croyle was statistically the worst quarterback of the year last year..I do believe he can be something, but why are we coming down so hard on huard? I realize he isn’t the future, but we’re not going to find the future out their in free agency..Come on get real
Get real? How do you think Carolina found Jake Delhomme. It happens, and we need to start looking to the future. It ain’t Brokie, and it sure as hell ain’t a 35-year-old career back-up who hates getting hit. IT…IS…A…WASTE…OF…TIME. And even if the guy we bring in busts, at least we are trying to find the answer for the future. That real enough?
Sandy, Len Dawson was a free agent.
I agree, Chris Simms would be great at this point. Huard did what he does, but he is not our future.
Sure anythings possible, it just isn’t likely. Was Len Dawson and Jake Delhomme acquired during the season? Theirs definently a lot less talent on the market than their was two months ago.
The fact that brodie can’t stay healthy is of serious concern
Adam,
This season, Tom Brady apparently won’t stay healthy either. Brodie always comes back from injuries, he will again. Speaking of Croyle, name me one thing you saw him do wrong yesterday before he got hurt? I thought he played damn well considering what he was asked to do. You can’t blame him for weak playcalling or dropped passes.
