I kind of like the new comments thing on the left.

I would agree with xxx on the point of navigation. I'd suggest a link on the "recent posts" that takes you to a page where you can see like the last 30 posts instead of just 10. It's getting easy to fall behind around here.

Other improvements:

Can you guys start putting the author of the post in the post itself instead of just on the front page? I don't come here from the front page, I set up all my rss feeds into ChiefsPlanet and come straight into the post, so I can't see who the author is unless I go out to the main page. I'd suggest just using a small pic at the top of the post to distinguish everyone (like the wizard pic when Merlin posts). Just a little peeve of mine.

Also, I'll agree that the comments are starting to run over (which is great btw). The system over at AP is awesome. If we could employ a reply system like that it may keep things a little more organized.

I can see Quinn Gray as our qb. He looked good in the preseasonas I pointed out to another commenter last week. Plus he was in Indy all preseason. Herm and Tony see eye to eye on a LOT of things so I think that Gray would be a good fit here. Glad that there are more of you that think the same. Now if we could put that thought in Herm's ear.......................

We discussed it, and feel like this way is easier to keep track of for commenters (and it was requested by several). If we get an overwhelming response about it we may switch it back.

Oh I understand Adam, I'm just usually loading/doing 2-3 things at once, and I live in the country, so my connection is a.. well. You can guess. Forums would just be one more thing I had to load in, and sometimes I just have that journalistic bug that makes me want to write these long posts about my Chefs (anyone remember that commercial? Good times.) I'm not saying change it, I'm just always going to get annoyed at points and throw it out there once in awhile, so be prepared, lol.

Yeah D-Mac would face lesser ends, but also alot more blitzes, especially by premier blitzers a la Ware, Merriman, etc. They'd know that's our weak point (not to mention blind side) and attack relentlessly, like we should have against the Patsies today. And truthfully, I don't trust D-Mac with just the ends, either. Nor Adrian Jones for that matter. If either one of those guys was my 'personal protector' I'd go ahead and get it over with, save myself some pain, and bite the bullet. I wouldn't trust him to guard my cleats in the locker room. That's just me.

I think Gray would be a nice pickup though. People tend to think that he's really really young. But actually he's 27/28. Not sure which, I need to look that up. He's been in the league long enough to know the nuances, he's outshone Simms in pre-season, and I have to admit it, Gray reminds me of Printers, who I thought looked badass last pre-season. And then we cut him. Lame. He made plays with his arm and his legs, just like Gray would. Printers moved our offense.. rather well, actually, and I think Gray could do the same thing. Hell, if all else fails; maybe we can coax Printers back to us, so he can make Chicken Salad (Hard Knocks reference.)

But XXX, I do agree with you on Quinn Gray though - I remember the game he came in against us and they came back and won the game. That arm and mobility would sure look good in red right now.

And XXX, just to support what Adam says, I just came home from work and wanted to find out some info about the Simms situation, so of course the first place that I went was AA .... and lo and behold, an update on Simms. I've completely stopped visiting my old regulars, KC Star and kcchiefs.com, b/c I get more information here!

lachief, on the "passing chances" category, I doubt the Patriots are still going to drop back 40 times a game without Brady...just like today, after Brady went down, they came out in a lot less spread formations and were about 50/50 on run to pass ratio.

But I think we should just see what happens in NE this week and if Simms is available after this "experiment", then we should definately take consideration.

lachief, nice comment! A pretty good evaluation. The big question will be if NE wants Simms. Baltimore passed on him, so it's possible. Maybe he's asking for a chance to compete for a starting job, or guaranteed money, or years...? Hard to say.

xxxlp, your points are always taken into consideration as one of our most loyal readers, and we will work on the sidebars and other things to make navigation easier. At the same time, the content is going to stay pretty consistent. We're growing, and need to stay at this level to keep it that way. This is also why we revamped http://addictboards.com--for commenters to be able to start their own threads and continue conversations over longer durations of time.

The thing I think you are missing is that I don't think defenses typically flip their entire defense when facing a southpaw. Sure, Damion would be protecting his blindside, but Albert would be facing better ends. With the way Dame played today, that will soon be Taylor anyway.

I do like Quinn Gray, though. He's probably No. 2 on my list. I'll pass on Daunte...
