I say we just concentrate on being positive about the chiefs situation -

there's not much we can do.

we can be the twelvth man when we're in the stands getting loud -

and I believe in the 13th man, the media and the "fans" feeding the players (with positive karma and feedback from week to week,) in between games.... Yeah, Karma.

Carl is to Whitless as Roe V Wade is to the Republican base. They need them to rail against and stir up the masses.

Whitlock says he is one of Belichick's "biggest fans" (he may be speaking in literal terms here, we don't know) and that "we're grid iron soul mates".

Those statements really explain a lot. Now I know where his dumbass remarks and foul attitude come from.

I'm not quite prepared to write Brodie off just yet, but if our O-line improves on last year and LJ stays healthy, he should be able to put up decent numbers if he's good as they think he is. On the other hand, if he plays as ordinary as he did during the pre-season, Duante Culpepper is going to look like an attractive option.

Jefferson has nothing to do with football either, but he always spoke about dissent as a necessary thing, so we were basically eluding to the same thing.

Nothing is wrong with being a homer. I just think those of us who get poached for putting down our rose-colored glasses get a little frustrated sometimes, and maybe that comes off as anti-homer sentiment.

JFK has nothing to do with football...

I'm just pointing out that just because Adam and I dissent on Chiefs strategy doesn't make us NOT CHIEFS FANS. Most of the regular commenters on here are homers and that's to be expected. Just don't hate on us because we tend to put down our rose colored glasses once and a while.

D.J.,

I have no problem saying I was wrong. I also would rather get what I want then be right, and have stated so on many occasions.

At the same time, I'm not going to let fear of being wrong hold me back from speaking my mind. I also enjoy writing as much as I do watching my Chiefs. That my sound weird, but whether it's A.A., freelance or a screenplay, the keyboard is my field.

I actually kind of have split-personality disorder when it comes to the Chiefs. There is Arrowhead Adam, who speaks his mind up until game time, then there is Adam, who roots for the Chiefs for 60 minutes with all his heart. I keep the two separate, and it's worked well so far.

I'll keep all of that in mind, though, and thanks for the compliments. I do think Whitlock hates Carl, but I do agree that he is his cash cow. That and race.

Adam

Whitlock doesn't hate Carl. Far from it. He's his biggest cash cow. Once Peterson is gone, he's got to go to all the trouble of setting up a new villain. That's a lot of work for a big man.

Sorry to tell you this Adam, but while you have a nice site here that I like a great deal and I enjoy your sense of humor, your views are not as unique as you would probably like to believe. There are hundreds of thousands if not millions of Chiefs fans and the range of opinions on them range from completely and utterly hopeless Homer to the guy that watches every game in the hopes that his least favorite guys get hurt so he can laugh about it. Everyone else is some combination of everything in between.

The problem I see many people have is they take a position on the coach, or the philosophy or certain players, and they put themselves in a situation where if they are wrong about those guys and they succeed, they cannot bring themselves to be happy about it. Oh, they always SAY they will be the happiest person in the world if they are wrong, but they never quite get around to admitting to themselves much less anyone else that they were wrong.

You don't want to put yourself in a position to be one of those guys thats the buzzkill at the party where everyone else is happy but you just HAVE to interject some little negative comment about one of the guys you've taken a previous stance against to take something away from them. You're not there yet, but its a short jump from trying to make yourself out to be "objective" by being critical of your team to just being a negative haranguer that only shows his face when theres something bad to talk about.

I'd rather be called a hopeless homer any day than be THAT guy. I enjoy watching the Chiefs more than I enjoy being right.
