From wikipedia:
Fan:
A fan, aficionado or supporter is someone who has an intense, occasionally overwhelming liking of a sporting club, person, group of persons, company, product, work of art, idea, or trend. Fans of a particular thing constitute its fanbase or fandom. They may start a fan club, hold fan conventions, create fanzines, write fan mail, or engage in similar activities.

Adam, are you a fan of the team? - or the players?
You can't call yourself a real fan based on this definition.
Come on man, define your fandom. Maybe you're approaching hooliganism.

Hooliganism:
refers to unruly and destructive behaviour. Such behaviour is commonly associated with sports fans, particularly supporters of professional football and university sports. The term can also apply to general rowdy behaviour and vandalism, often under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Frustrating... this is my favorite sight. But, I represent a true fan. One that supports the Team. One that I feel I contribute to in the best way I can.

Do you know what bothers me most about this whole discussion?

When asked to offer our predictions on the outcome anyone bold enough to project a win for the Chiefs, regardless of whether objective, realistic reasons were given, was crucified as an unobjective, unrealistic homer.

Why even ask the question?

I still respect you, Scott, and thanks for chiming in. But being my own man with my own voice is more important to me than popularity. I just honestly happened to agree with a lot of this article.

By the reaction I'm getting, you'd think that I posted a blog wearing a Broncos jersey with a Raiders cap.

I happened to agree with Jason on this one. I think it's that we are both fed up with this "we're going to go 10-6 because Brodie is the savior" attitude. Because of that, we probably came off as harsh. But I must say it is incredibly frustrating getting blasted when you are just trying to be objective about things for your reader's benefit. Incredibly.

Adam,

I share your opinion that we can probably put this game in the L column. That doesn't bother me. If we win, great. No one expects us to. What does bother me are your compliments to Whitlock's article. That is probably the single most enraging piece of his that I've ever read. His blatant disrespect for the team and everyone involved with it is sickening.

When I first saw it I wanted to write a scathing comment on the Star's website. Then I realized it wouldn't make a damn bit of difference. So I decided to email the writer of my favorite Chiefs site. Surely he was just as disgusted at that trash as I was. Surely I could count on him to rip into Whitlock for me, do an eloquent job, and do it in a much wider forum. Surely I was wrong.

Make no mistake, I'm not leaving. I'm not questioning your fandom. I just can't understand how you could agree in any way with his vicious cutting down of our team. My respect level for you has always been very high. I can't say that any more.
