On a side note, check out this article. From the sounds of the article we did not win against the Bears after all.

And Chris a Manifesto is a public declaration of principles, policies, or intentions. This is a statement of the Chiefs current principals, policies, and intentions.

Yawn. Thanks for reminding me what a pit we are in. And how is this a Manifesto? Seems like a brief history lesson and some obvious observations.

I have tried and failed to express what this season means to us. This should be the "Chiefs Manifesto" for this rebuilding project. I am ready for a losing season. I will support them in all their pains. You better also beleive I will do my best to be at the Chiefs draft day party this year.

Well said Chris. The challenge this year is to grow and improve so we can contend in the next year or tow.

Great post Chris. I love reading your stuff.

Being young will somewhat excuse sub-par play early in the season but these guys will have to increase their level of play quickly and if what I have read about most of them they will. It sounds like our young guys like Flowers, Dorsey and even Albert when he was practicing were learning from their mistakes.

It will be an exciting year for Chiefs fans if this team can show some promise and start playing at the level we all think they are capable of.

Nicely written Chris.

Young or not, these guys are NFL players and they should be ready to compete at that level. For that reason and because of the combination of speed and talent we possess, I believe this season can and will go better than most are projecting right now. Most are basing their projections on how the Chiefs did last year without considering how much different they might be this season. However, because there are so many young players starting, I have no illusions that there are certain to be games we should win but instead walk away looking utterly abysmal (see Miami). The local media can be expected to be unrelenting about every loss and half-hearted in their praise about any wins.

In the end, I think Chiefs fans are a pretty savvy group and they understand what this team is about and have the patience for the journey ahead. Hopefully Clark Hunt has the requisite levels of commitment, patience, and wisdom to effectively lead in that effort.

Thanks guys. I've been thinking about doing a piece on that subject for a while now, but I thought this would be the best time to post it.

Hopefully the Chiefs will take note of all the lessons they can learn in this game, win or lose, and become a better team as a result.
