Albert Fine-stein?

by Breaking News

Yes, this is one of my wackiest titles yet–sue me. It’s late and I’m deliriously tired. Anyway, the big news is that Branden Albert is pretty much healthy and may indeed play for the Chiefs this Sunday in–GULP!–New England. Still, I’d rather have him than not, and I can’t wait to see Phat Albert play. Richard Seymour and Co. might just get an unexpected dancing partner. From The Star:

Rookie left tackle Branden Albert is healthy enough at least to return to practice this week. After missing more than four weeks because of a sprained foot, Albert might even play Sunday when the Chiefs begin the regular season at New England.

“Not ruling him out at all,” Herm Edwards said. “Not one bit.”

The Chiefs are being careful with Albert and the injury he suffered July 31. It forced the 6-foot-5, 316-pounder to miss all but five days of the preseason, and he initially needed crutches and a walking boot to get around. Last week, he did light calisthenics and is expected to return full-speed when the Chiefs resume practice Wednesday.

Very exciting to say the least.

Thoughts? Will he play? Will Damion McIntosh get benched in favor of Herb Taylor? Will Adrian Jones?

Thats what Id like to see, Taylor, B Rich, Nis, Waters, Albert, I think that line could dominate

He is not going to RG this year. IF for whatever reason he doesn't play great this year, maybe they move him to RG next year. I say let him play. They are not going to push him before he is not ready to play. By week 4 you will see Taylor starting at RT anyways.

I agree with not rushing him back but as soon as he is deemed ready move Herb Taylor over to the RT as starter. I'd like to see what B Rich can do at RG.

That's a good point. Is he really going to make the difference this week?

Then again, Wes Welker is probably out, and Kevin Faulk is for sure. Tom Brady is also probably a little rusty. I don't think we will beat them at all, but we might be able to play a somewhat competitive game. On second thought, probably not. I'm still saying like 45-7.

I said this before the final game of the preseason and was probably not fought too much because it WAS preseason, but please dear god let's not rush him. Why? If you have any doubt in your mind DO NOT PLAY HIM. Give him another week. We're not winning a Super Bowl this year guys. Give this guy time so that we might be winning one in a couple of years.
