“Thigpen is Brodie Croyle last year”.

You think that's going to convince anyone to not want to flush the toilet on this guy? Herm, Herm, Herm...

By that logic we'll have a quarterback ready either six or seven years from now :)

I'm onboard with Thiggy as the 3rd stringer. Something Herm said a few weeks back: "Thigpen is Brodie Croyle last year". In other words takes too many risks, doesn't play within the system, etc. But the physical tools are there. He's exactly the type of player you want in a 3rd stringer.

I'd rather keep them all our top 3 RB's, we need to slow down on trading players for picks right now, if he have someone looking good like Kolby to back up Larry thats a good thing because its 50/50 as far as Larry lasting all season IMO.

2. I also would like to end the Tyler Thigpen project, we have to go with what we got for QB's this year but next year let Thiggy & Huard go, draft or try to find a deal on a free agent & open up competition again...

What?! Zach, do something! Your brother has been taken by the body snatchers! Wait, he didn't endorse Croyle, it might still be ok.

No, good points on all counts Adam.

1. I'd rather keep them all, but if one has to be shopped it should be Kolby.

2. Give Brian Johnston a couple years. He's like most young d-linemen. He's small this year. He'll bulk up next year and continue to improve. In his 3rd or 4th year he'll trim back down and really be a force. Think about Jared Allen for example (no I'm not comparing the two talent-wise). He was kind of small to begin with. Then he got bigger and better. Then before last year he trimmed down and was unstoppable. BJohn can do the same if given time. I was impressed.

3. Cut Thiggy. Yes, he's a project but I think Pigpen hasn't shown enough to merit hope for the future. At least not yet. I just don't like his style.

One thing -

4. Even after last night I say cut Sams and give it to Savage. I want a long term solution here, not a stop gap. Sams had one good game. Savage has been consistently tearing around without abandon. Macho Man makes rookie mistakes right now, but I think he's got way more drive and athleticism than B.J. If he can't handle the job by the time KR gets back give it to him.

Sudden, we have to give DVD a chance, but our coaches have been wrong on many occasions before. There must be a reason, but who knows if it's the right one.

If Thigpen leads the Chiefs to a 10-6 record I will put "Thiggy Addict" on the banner for a month. I promise.

DD, you might be right about the sandbag theory. But even if not, I think we have one of the best and deepest recieving corps that I have ever seen in all my years as a Chiefs fan. And if the coaches have DVD ahead of Franklin, Sipp, Webb, Price, et al, there must be a reason.

"This pro-Thiggy talk is almost as bad as the 10-6 talk. Wow."
Oh, so that's how that it is. (2 fingers to the eyes and back atcha)

Dude, Adam, you called him Casey Printers. I mean, even if he isn't worthy of a roster spot, the guy hasn't fumbled half the snaps he's taken.

But now I'm gonna laugh if Brodie goes down early in the season and Thiggy comes in to lead this team to a 10-6 record. (note: I don't even remotely entertain the possibility of such happening).

Sudden,
I don't think most folks around here are actually anti-DVD. If he's all that, then I think we'd just like to have something to go on that would allow us to feel a little better about the fact that he's been totally MIA this entire preseason. Seems a bit odd for an otherwise unproven #2 WR. My grassy knoll theory is that Chan has chosen to sandbag with the guy and I really, really hope I'm right about that!
