Stray Arrows: Brady Punch
So much for the Chiefs getting lucky and catching a break. Looks like Tom Brady will suit up for the Patriots come opening day. Because of that, this is one opening day that I’m actually dreading to some degree. From ESPN:
Tom Brady hasn’t played in the preseason, but the New England Patriots’ franchise quarterback said Monday he expects to play in the team’s season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“If I don’t play [Thursday, when the Patriots play the Giants in their preseason finale] then I’ll be ready for Kansas City,” Brady said on an appearance on WEEI Radio’s Dennis & Callahan Show.
How does everybody else feel about this development? What’s the over/under on Tom Brady-to-Randy Moss TDs? Let it out, folks…

If he’s going to start in one game or the other, I’d rather he warm up with the Chiefs than with the Giants. If we have any shot at all, it will come as a result of “Mr. Indispensable” being a tad rusty and/or out-of-sync.
I hope the first play involves Brandon Flowers stepping across and flattening Moss before the ball is even snapped. Take the penalty, set the tone.
Over/under on Brady to Moss TDs – I’ll go over 2. I have an even bigger concern about how we’re going to manage Welker.

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Monday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with free agent K Jay Feely. As per Chiefs policy, no other terms of the agreement was made available.
Feely (5-10, 206) has played in 112 regular season games with Atlanta (2001-04), the N.Y. Giants (2005-06) and Miami (2007). He has converted 177 of 219 field goals (80.8%) and 249 of 251 PATs (99.2%) for 780 points. He has also appeared in six postseason contests, connecting on eight of 11 FGs (72.7%) and all 12 of his PATs for 36 points.
The St. Paul, Minnesota native enjoyed his best NFL season with Miami in 2007. Feely played in all 16 games a year ago for the Dolphins, converting 21 of 23 FGs (91.3%) and all 26 of his PATs for a team-high 89 points. His 91.3 field goal make percentage was the highest single-season mark in Dolphins history and ranked third in the NFL for 2007. Feely connected on a career-high 35 of 42 FGs (83.3%) and all 43 of his PATs for a personal-best 148 points for the N.Y. Giants in 2005 while working with current Chiefs special teams coach Mike Priefer.
Feely was a four-year letterman at Michigan, converting 20 of 26 field goals and 43 of 44 PATs for 103 points. He connected on 17 of 22 field goals and 40 of 41 PATs for 91 points as a senior. He set Hillsborough County career and single-season records for field goals and PATs at Jesuit High School in Tampa, Florida.

August 25th, 2008 at 6:57 pmLearn from the G-men of last season and Superbowl Champs! I agree Tim. Let’s face it.. Tom is going to get some if not most passes out none the less, so just take from the film room, study and PRESSURE and BLITZ and hope for the best!
Do it enough and if we get to him (T the Lucky man Simpson) enough times and two or more sacks I believe it will call the rest of the game for us. Especially in my opinion or D will be a slight better then our O.
CHIEFS!!!
