A.A.D.Q.: Will Run DMC Take The Raiders Back From Hell?

by AADQ

I’m not going to lie–this picture scares the bejesus out of me. If Darren McFadden is the next Adrian Peterson, or even Reggie Bush, the Raiders could be on their way back. Remember the painful years when they had eventual Kansas City icons Bo Jackson and Marcus Allen running roughshod over our Chiefs? I do. Let’s hope he’s more like Harvey Williams.

How much does Run DMC in Silver and Black scare you? Be honest now…

Well, let's not get too carried away now. Having Freeman doesn't mean the cats will amount to anything but he might allow them to sneak up on a team or two. By the way, I read where the "sheep lot" will be closed this season. So where does that leave you guys as far as post-game entertainment is concerned? :o

Hopefully, he is the real deal for us this year. I love hearing that from a Beaker, though! Mizzou fans, like my dad, talk up Daniel, but in the pros--when his short, stocky ass isn't going Shotgun every play--he'll be worthless. The spread offense just doesn't translate to the pros. I actually think Freeman might be part of a dying breed--the prototypical pro QB. We will see.

Adam, even as a loyal Jayhawker, I can acknowledge that Freeman might be the deal.

Run DMC and the Raiders don't scare me because of where they are as much as they do because of where we are. Our LBs absolutely have to improve in order to counteract Run DMC. That said, we're building a defense predicated on speed, so we should be able to neutralize that kind of threat in the future. But if Miami is any indication of how this starting group is going to play, we're in for a tough season.

Darren McFadden is an unreal talent. He will be a super force in the league. The question: Will Al Davis continue to meddle so much with Lane Kiffin that he basically neutralizes any hope of winning in Raider Nation.

If Kiffin is given the reigns completely, I say WATCH OUT. The Raiders will be scary on the ground - although JaMarcus isn't very intelligent, he has a HUGE arm.

And I totally disagree with most of what the Raiders have done, but both Darren and JaMarcus scare me. Not gonna lie...and DeAngelo Hall is a player, too. They have good corners. They have a brighter future than the Broncos, but I still think we are building towards something better. If we can figure out our QB situation, that is.

I'd just hate to look in the mirror and see Al Davis looking back at me, or Jabba for that matter. Sometimes I really agree with that guy, but most of the time I just write off his shock jock tactics.

I saw a lot more from Eli in college and even early in his career. I don't think comparing Croyle to a Manning is a legit comparison. To me, Croyle is in the same camp as the Kellen Clemens and Tarvaris Jacksons of the leagues. Guys you take a flier on, not bet the house on.

And Josh Freeman has all the tools to be a franchise quarterback. I am a K-State kid, but anybody who thinks Daniel or Reesing will be better pro QBs is nuts.

If it comes to that, I'm with you Adam on Josh Freeman - I really like the guy as NFL QB. Him, or maybe Sam Bradford. That said, developing a young QB takes patience Adam - something that you apparently lack. I am pretty sure you would have been calling for the head of Eli Manning if he was our QB in his 3rd year.

Brodie, like all young QBs, is going to have days where he plays ugly. I think you also have to admit that the OL play was anything but spectacular. As bad as Croyle looked on Sunday, I still say he is making progress. For example, he now is more apt to throw the ball away rather than trying to force it somewhere that it doesn't belong. It's the little things that count right now.

As far as the Raiders are concerned, I'll worry about them when we play them in week 2. I continue to trust in the omnipotent ability of Al Davis to make the coaching situation there dysfunctional and to spend his money in all the wrong ways.

Speaking of Al Davis and the Raiders, did anyone read Jabba's unfavorable comparison of our organization to theirs? Any lingering doubts about his total hate for the Chiefs or for his unconditional love for the Raiders can now be completely dispelled. The guy has finally come out and proven himself as a complete and unabashed asshole.

Get it going, already. Actually, I think I prefer Josh Freeman. He runs a pro offense and I think his abilities might be better suited for a pro career. I've been meaning to write about him for some time, just didn't want to deal with the Brodie Believers. Looks like they've been silenced for now.

I wouldn't take Svitek over Dakota Fanning, xxxlp. Sorry. Route 71 needs to find a new team...or new career, actually.

CSMQ, craigslist.org is a great place to find tickets from other fans. So is eBay. Cheaper and usually better tickets than brokers. Then there is always waiting to gameday and scalping, which can work well if you wait long enough.

SCREW THE RAIDERS! I doubt they will be in contention this year, especially with the 2 stars that are out for the rest of the year. I agree with Rihaven, if we don't get a stellar year out of Croyle and we end up at the bottom of the pile again......TIM TEBOW! I am however very optimistic that we will finish better than we did last year. Croyle has some BIG potential but having a guy like Tebow could be a great thing for the whole organization. He is the white Mike Vick of the sport, except a little bit better of an arm!

alil off topic but whats the best place to go to get Chiefs-Raiders tickets?

I agree, the AFC West could be getting alot more competitive with us and the Raiders possibly on the rise...

Your questions aren't as fun right now Adam...

xxxlp hit this one. I think we have other teams to look at first. Our D was good against the run last year (please dont bring up JA because he was no help.)

I dont know. After Miami I am back to my Tim Tebow campaighn.

Im about to register www.TebowInKc.com and start the movement.

While it is a daunting idea, Not-so-FatMarcus, D-Mac (no, not that one!) Justin Fargas and Ronald Curry could be the fearsome foursome for Oakland for years and years to come, I still don't think they can get the job done. So JaMarcus Russell can throw 70 yards sitting on his ass on the ground? Great, because he's going to be there A LOT. I know they invested alot of money into a guy like Robert Gallery, so they have to make it work, but they've been trying for a couple years too many already. And he's still a starter. That says alot. I'd take Svitek (as my starter) over just about any of those guys.

I'll definetly still be more worried about LT, Antonio Gates, Chris Chambers and Vincent Jackson.

Not so much Brandon Marshall, Jay Cutler, Eddie Royal and Selvin Young.

Ha. Turkey Neck Williams.
