Some bad news about gargantuan tight end Brad Cottam, one of the Chiefs‘ rooks who was performing the best so far. From BobGretz.com:
TE Brad Cottom injured his shoulder early in the Arizona game and did not return. Edwards does not think he’ll be available for pre-season game No. 3 and possibly No. 4.
This means that out of our top six picks, only Flowers and Morgan, knock on wood, have yet to sustain somewhat serious injuries. Part of this is getting acclimated to a more physical game. The other part? Plain old bad luck.

man wat the hell we got shitty luck lol well i guess that comes with being a chiefs fan lets hope hes avaliable when we go to new england and we still got tony G but man i love cottam on our bootleg routes!!
GO CHIEFS!!!
I was watching the Giants preseason game and one of their rookie running backs broke his ankle. I know these injuries suck, but on the same note it could be much worse.
Damn. Well, as long as they’re ready by the regular season it’s OK.
I’ve been saying this about Cottam since I saw him getting drafted. It’s pretty much been exactly as I said. Very talented when he’s HEALTHY (he’s shown that.) But he isn’t healthy often. (He’s starting to show that now.) I’m not trying to be a downer, I just don’t see him as our number one go-to guy at TE once Tony G. hangs up the pads.
Something that I thought of tonight…I sure as hell hope Tony doesn’t retire the same year as Favre…can you imagine trying to get to Canton for the induction with all the crazy cheeseheads that would be there…
also, hope the injury thing doesn’t become common for him like you are wary of…
Nah, Tony will probably get screwed like Derrick Thomas because he didn’t play in a Super Bowl.
I don’t actually think that will be the case, but it wouldn’t surprise me that bad.
I hope so too, woody. History just has a tendency to repeat itself. Cottam’s been injured alot. That’s my big worry about Brodie too. He’s been oft injured as well.
