Stray Arrows: Lynch Riding Coattails

John Lynch, Herm Edwards‘ pal and ex-Broncos safety, signed with the Patriots today. Past his prime, it looks like he’ll be content pulling a Jiminy Cricket and riding coattails in this last-ditch attempt to get another ring. Since I hate Lynch about as much as any player this side of Rodney Harrison, it sure is convenient that they are playing in the same defensive backfield. If this story was a flick it would be called Dirty and Dirtier: The Senior Years. From PFT:

Per Schefter, Lynch has inked a one-year, $1.5 million contract.

It’s the third career team for the nine-time Pro Bowler, who was a key member of the Buccaneers’ defense of the late ’90s and early portion of the current decade.  After being cut by the Bucs, he spent four years with the Broncos.

Like we needed another reason to hate the Pats. Oh well, we got one. Hopefully, some of our Chiefs will have a little something for Lynch come Week One.
