Phat Albert's Fat Ankle No Big Deal
All you need to know about the ankle injury Chiefs LT Branden Albert sustained during tonight’s scrimmage can be found in this Herm Edwards‘ quote. Exhale, everybody. Phew! From The K.C. Star:
Albert, a left tackle, walked back to the locker room before the practice concluded. Coach Herm Edwards said he didn’t believe the injury would set Albert back much if at all.
“He’ll be fine,” Edwards said. “It’s nothing bad.”
I’m waiting for more info, but by all accounts our guys looked pretty good. I was glad to hear players like Bobby Sippio, Dimitri Patterson and Herb Taylor made some plays. Still, you can’t take too much away from the scrimmage because the Vikings kept a lot of guys back at home.

Anybody have some insight as to how the Dline played tonight?
August 1st, 2008 at 12:17 amI know Glenn Dorsey stopped Purple Jesus for no gain on a big play, with an assist from a blitzing Page. Haven’t seen or heard much else. Johnston and Hali sat out, so…
August 1st, 2008 at 12:29 am“What Albert has shown so far in camp is that he’s a quick learner. Veteran pass rushers can fool him at times with inside moves, but he’s picking up the clues and starting to diagnose his opponent. Now, the Chiefs have to hope this ankle thing isn’t some chronic problem. Remember, he missed the last workouts of the off-season program after suffering an ankle injury.”

That worries me a little bit.
August 1st, 2008 at 1:49 amQuote of the day: A taunting Chiefs fan to the Vikings’ defense, after it had been gashed for some long runs: “Bet you guys wish you had Jared Allen. Oh, wait, he can’t stop the run, either.”
I thought that was funny. I still wish we had the guy though. I’m still down with the movement too.

August 1st, 2008 at 9:38 amI kind of miss Allen, but at the same time its good that all seems quiet on the Chiefs front. No drama. This time last year the topic was (amongst others) about who would fill in for him during his suspension for drinking and driving. After the season it was “will the Chiefs pay him.” Same with the year before.
