Yes. That’s me freaking out all right. Negative. That’s you condemning people for their opinions, while throwing your support behind a guy who has done nothing in this league but prove he’s a bad quarterback, and that’s given 5 years to do something on a team without an established quarterback. If Brodie has performed the way Simms has after his next three or four years, I’m all for finding someone new. In the meantime, let’s avoid this scenario:

– Adam posts a new blog

– Sean expresses his opinion

– Adam scoffs at Sean’s opinion and acts as if Sean is a blithering idiot for even daring to think something so foolish. As we all know, Adam is a well-respected expert.

– Sean defends his opinion

– Adam claims Sean can’t accept the views of others

Besides, this is an op-ed site, where people come to read our opinions and share their own. Heaven forbid I have actually do what I’m supposed to and share my opinion. If you’re mad that we’re not an overly pro-Brodie site, go start your own. Nothing’s stopping you. ProBrodie.com is available. I’ll even buy the domain name for you just to see it launch I’m joking. And you’re always welcome to share your opinion, just don’t freak out when we disagree.

Stephen Gostkowski is a kicker, by the way. I was talking about Bruce Gradkowski, who’s not as good as Simms.

Also, I’d like to see a comment in which I said “I like to argue”. Because I don’t. It just so happens that you are apparently the end-all-be-all of football and everything you say is always right and no one else has any clue about anything. The problem being that your arguments tend to lack any statistical or logical reasoning. If you don’t want to get “bitchslapped” (your word, not mine) then try backing up your statements every once in a while.

A.) I never said to go with him instead of Brodie. I simply want to add a young player like him to give us a better chance of churning out a QB, because right now I don’t like our chances. Huard is certainly not the guy, so why have him around? If not Simms, let’s bring in someone else. I like the chances of us hitting one out of three much better than one out of two. I want another young guy as an insurance policy in case we strike out on Croyle and Thigpen, which easily could happen. The rebuilding project will fall flat without a QB, so let’s up our odds of finding a bit. Right?

B.) Simms is not a bad quarterback. He’s shown quite a bit of promise despite having a putrid offense around him. I’ve watched him play quite a bit. Gradkowski wouldn’t be a bad option either. One of those guys are going to get cut, and both have the experience needed to be a back-up, yet are still young.

Again, I’m done arguing with you. Never meant to even get on Brodie here, as you’ll notice I didn’t even mention his name in the post. Why? Because a few of you guys go nuts any time I give my honest freakin’ opinion about him. You’re the President of the Brodie fan club, his biggest cheerleader. You defend him more valiantly than Colts fans would Peyton Manning. Are you related to him or something? My dear God…Done Just have to explain myself when you put words in my mouth that I didn’t say. You’d rather sign a QB who has proven himself to be a bad QB than go with a couple who are totally unproven and have potential.

Trading Huard and signing Chris Simms instead of going with Brodie would be like the Cardinals trading Kurt Warner and signing David Carr instead of going with Matt Leinart. It doesn’t make sense.

I just don’t believe in Brodie or Thigpen, so I want another young QB as insurance. This rebuilding plan won’t work unless it has a QB. I’m not talking to you about Croyle any more. Sometimes I forget you’re from Alabama, not to mention that you like to argue more than Matlock and Perry Mason combined.

Also, as far as college success goes, Chris Simms and Brodie Croyle aren’t that far off. They both has 2 seasons in college in which they started 10 games or more. In Croyle’s first of those, he started 11 games, playing most of those with aggravations from a separated shoulder and two cracked ribs (which he didn’t reveal to the public). And you call Croyle not tough? In the season Croyle got to start where he actually wasn’t injured and had an OK team around him, Bama almost went undefeated. When did Chris Simms ever get that close to going undefeated? Not to mention the SEC is the toughest conference in college football.

On the pro level, neither QB has proved anything, though Simms has had way more time to do it. He’s been in the league twice as long as Croyle. What has he done to make you think he’s so good? Anything but Brodie Croyle for you, I guess.
