Double D, I agree completely. I actually think the first step needs to be a rookie salary cap. Some of these first round contracts are positively ridiculous.

I guess we shouldn't get too optimistic about having Glenn Dorsey signed and in camp anytime in the near future. His agent, Joel Segal (whose clientele includes JaMarcus Russell, Levi Brown, DeAngelo Hall, Michael Vick, and others) is saying he wants to "hold off" on talks with the Chiefs until he sees how things go for other top 10 draft picks. Apparently we should ignore the reality that agents for those other top 10 picks would have an even better justification for holding out until they see how much the 5th pick gets. The NFL has got to fix this rookie salaries/holdouts problem soon - the current bargaining process severely undermines the draft's goal of creating better parity.

I think the fact that Parker is a talented special teams guy would make him worthwhile. I also think he'd make a good mentor for some of the youngs, yet he's still young enough to think he has a future in front of him. K-Rob also needs to be pushed. After last year the last thing we should do is just hand over the return job.

I don't see a reason in signing Parker. We already have half a dozen guys on our roster. Not to mention we just signed to more bodies to the list. I say we give Franklin, Darling, Webb, and Robinson a chance to make a difference.
