Final word. Again we dont hate Kris as a person. We are just as mad at the people that drafted him when we didn't need that position. Everyone knew that, but still Kris did nothing under the Vermeil era (the guys that wanted him so bad). His best years have actually come under Herm. Anyways like I said we are just as mad that the Chiefs wasted a 2nd round pick on him when we could have helped our OL now, Had an actual H-back in Cooley, or have a franchise QB in Matt Schaub. DONE lol

Sorry dude, I never intended to stir up a debate over a mediocre player who we cut. It's just that y'all are acting like he's Ryan Simms or something. I'd at least compare him more to Jeff Webb -- dissapointing but not horrid. :-D

But yeah I'm done too. This is gay.

Well couldn't sleep, so watched a few shows I had DVR'd, and thought I'd check back here. I agree with you, Kris Wilson wasn't a great Chief. Hell, I'll say he was a mediocre Chief. Even slightly-under-average Chief. But look at the facts, we drafted him for a purpose, well.. Vermiel did. And he wasn't able to fulfill that purpose with us, because our offense changed dramatically. He's definetly a 2nd round talent, IMO, and will be a nice 2nd stringer for the Eagles, who may eventually blossom into a Tony G. wannabe type player. We just couldn't utilize him how he needs to be utilized. Usually you stick a guy where his best strength is, so he helps you out the most. Well that's tough when his strength isn't as strong as Tony G's strength, pass catching. Can't blame the guy for that. Not many guys can even hang on to Tony's jock, let alone match it. Just watch out for KW, is all I'm saying. If the Eagles use him the way he needs to be used, he'll have a helluva year/career there.

As a sidenote: I still think Kendrell Bell would have been a TON better had we used him at MLB instead of OLB. And on that token, Kawika was actually better for the Giant's at OLB than MLB. So we would have had a 'decent' group of LB's there. The Bell thing is the same as KW's, in theory. We got him for a purpose, but his strength was on the inside, particularly in a 3-4 D. We brought him to a 4-3 OLB spot, and expected the same results. Shenanigans. Just a bad move, IMO.

Of course you are going to say that about xxxlp's argument--you're the president of the Kris Wilson fan club, and that was the closest thing to a decent case yet :)

I'm just shocked that Kris Wilson has a fan club. He probably is, too.

Man, I only go to bat like that for guys like Brian Waters, L.J. and Tony G. You guys are going to bat for Wilson like he's your own flesh and blood. I understand why you have nothing against the guy, but he wasn't a good Chief. That's been my point all along, and it's indisputable. It might not have been his fault or whatever (go ahead and think that if you want), but he was still a bust as far as producing on the field for us.

As for the Page and Pollard thing, yeah, I was a little hard on Page. But sometimes I think guys like Page and Brodie Croyle and Samie Parker get a free pass because of where they were drafted. Once you put on that Red and Gold, I don't give a damn where you were drafted--you better produce at a high level.

That is an excellent point by xxxlp on our corners, though. We had the slowest secondary maybe in the league last season. With a little more speed at corner, both Page and Pollard might fare better in coverage. But Page still needs to work on his tackling. That's what happens when G-Wes mentors you, I guess.

Argh...this Kris Wilson thing got out of control. I'm wondering if we can even bash Kendrell Bell or Ryan Sims on our own site at this point. I'm done on this one until the piece comes out...

Adam, I actually feel like Pollard is the better player as well -- it's the reason he was drafted in the 2nd round and Page was drafted in the 7th.

I do feel that Page is a talented young safety who will only get better; however, I'm not sure why you assume that just because someone likes Page they "prefer" him or think that he is better than Pollard. Safeties work as a team. It's not like preferring one quarterback over another. It's the reason there are two of them.

The fist pumping was purely because xxxlp made the best argument of anyone in this thread of comments thus far.

ps. Chris Cooley was not drafted as a tight end. He was converted from a fullback. But yes, it would have been pretty nifty if we'd nabbed him instead of Wilson (we need a fullback anyway!). Who knew, though?

And just for the record I am neither a Page or Pollard "guy" right now. I think the both have tremendous talents, but I need to see more complete games from them both. Love em' just want to see this season really showcase their stuff and I think they will.
