He averaged 3.5 yards a carry and 6.2 yards a reception. He had 3 TDs in 8 games. How was he not doing that bad?

Fred Taylor averaged 5.4 YPC last season and 5.0 the year before that, with over 1,000 yards each season. That's with Maurice Jones-Drew sharing carries.

I don't Larry Johnson not making this list has anything to do with anyone criticizing him. It's not like anyone specifically left him off the list as a personal slight against him. He just didn't make the cut after the season he just had.

Plus, we were 4-4 with L.J., and beating the Packers and driving when he went down. We were 0-8 without him. That being said, I can't possibly imagine that he isn't one of the 50 best players in the league, based on his importance to the Chiefs. He really wasn't that bad early on, despite no line and playing against monstrous front sevens (SD, MIN, JAX, etc...). I just can't wait until L.J. steps back on the field and silences his critics. Been waiting for that day for too long now.

Yah Dwight Freeney and Steven Jackson had down seasons too. I am not worried about LJ, if Fred Taylor or any other RB ran behind that line last year they would look awful too. LJ was barely left off that list, he doesnt get hurt he is on it.

If LJ has a bad season this year than I will worry, but almost everyone on the Chiefs had a horrid season last year.

Well, consider this Adam:

Is this list an annual sort of thing? If this ranks the top 50 players RIGHT NOW, based on the most recent season, LJ should not even be considered for it. He had a pedestrian season in '07. Fred Taylor, on the other hand, greatly complemented a team that played into January.

Even if the list has never been done by this source before, I'm fairly sure that's how it was intended. It can't really be argued that LJ had his most horrid season starting ever in 2007. Even before the injury, it was relatively painful to watch. Let's just hope he makes the list next year.
