Procrastination Friday: Required Reading

Summer officially starts tonight at roughly 8 p.m. in case you didn’t know, and also is the longest “day” of the year. Tell that smartass, stuntbrain salesman in the office, today is not when the sun is closest to the Earth..(that’s December 23rd) but rather, when the Sun is the furthest north.

So, with all that time between the sunrise and sunset, what better way to fill some of that time than to catch up on the events of the week here at ArrowheadAddict and the rest of the sports world. We are working on some big topics for the upcoming weeks, so be sure to keep checking back every day because we want your feedback and your support! Also, don’t forget about the forums!

    - I would too.

    - Favre isn’t coming back. (I also just noticed you misspelled ‘Favre’)

    - I’m damn proud of the Royals for the moment.

    - Alphonso Boone is the starter. BUT I’m hoping Herm realizes how gay that is. And that Brian Johnston breaks out and does what people think he might.

OK, I just read that British article on Favre, and the subsequent comments.

Did that guy really call Jared Allen “the greatest player ever to grace the gridiron”?

Why is Jared Allen all of a sudden being so overrated by everybody? Yeah, he’s one of the best defensive ends in the league right now, but give me a BREAK.

I think Johnston or Mcbride will win the starting spot, and i hope Boone gets moved back to the other starting spot for DT, I think Tank Tyler will contribute very mcuh but the combination of Boone and Dorsey makes me really excited, Boone kinda reminds me of Sedrick Ellis or vice versa but anyways Ellis was really good at getting to the Qb in college and pretty good at stopping the run whi9ch i think will be the same, and he reminds me alot of Alfonso Boone who was very good at putting pressure on the QB when he wasn’t winded because nobody could back him up, combined with Dorsey who is one hell of a run stopper i think we have the two best DT’s onm the board and we use Boone to the best of his ability instead of throwing him where he doesn’t belong

Fav-rah was a “There’s Something About Mary” reference

Nice, Crane. Never admit a typo! And always make a joke out of it. That’s what I do…lol…

I imagine that Gun has a little bit bigger plans for Dorsey than just stuffing the inside lanes. I am pretty sure that Dorsey is the kind of player who, at the NFL level, will be used in ways that are intended to cause more problems behind the line than on it. I don’t know what to think about Boone playing LE – I’m taking the wait and see on that one. No matter what, for a variety of reasons I do feel that this year’s D-Line should be a lot more dominant and effective than last year’s product.

Actually, I made that comment before I saw the Favre in the link above it. Stupid way to spell a name anyway… Like when I spelled Sam Kinison’s name wrong at the Collegian and caught hell for it. I told them he’s been dead for 10 years and I don’t think he would mind…oh-oh-oooohhhh!

    Double D
    I agree but….

I know that he will do more than just stuff lanes he will occasionally get to the qb maybe a little more than that but he is and was the best prospect coming out of the draft primarly to run stop, and in the cover two and the nfl the Dt are used as line eaters which means that they are used to take double teams and allow the linebackers to get to the Rb, Qb you name it, they don’t usally play behind the line, now im not saying he won’t but someone is going to have to command double teams so the linebackers can do their job and that will mainly be Dorsey

I agree that the DT will be much better this year 100 times better, but i don’t know about DE Allen wasa beast and did so well becasue he had Hali on the other side pushing the Qb out of the pocket, and the LE spot is a big question mark to me Johnston could be great Mcbride could be good and Alfonso Boone…well i just don’t see him making a big impact there, and Hali will do very good no matter what in my opinion but he could be amazing if he has someone like he was to Allen and right now i can’t see that, but i still think we will be a very good defensive front but im srill questioning the end spot
