I would agree he had some decent to good movies, but I am not going to say Tin Cup was a good movie. I would rather watch golf on TV for four days straight than watch that movie again. I think people put Costner on the level of other great actors and that is why my brother and I have always made fun of him because he is not even close to the top. The only part of Costner's role in <i> The Big Chill </i> that didn't land on the cutting floor was the scene at the beginning showing his cuff being buttoned. In other words, he was the corpse. I will say that I thought he pulled off the part of Jim Garrison in <i>JFK fairly well. Another movie where I thought his character seemed believable was </i><i>Silverado</i>.
