Let me get this straight I am no Stalone fan! Costner is better than Stalone. The only issues I have with Costner is that he is always the same in every movie he does....

Again sorry that I offended the god of all actors :)

thank you for the compliment carol, yes my wife and i have been married for 27 years, and maturity has faired well for her. she likes the skilled actors that can bring out what you see on the screen without having to be the stalone "type" with action and violence. she says that the reality of life is the hardest thing to protray as an actor. costner does that better than almost anyone else. i still smile when my wife thinks i look like him. so as an average joe, you just try to bring some of those real life qualities out each day. i enjoy being a fan of costner and his movies and glad there are others like you as well. nice to hear from you. my wife says hi.....

When you make 50+ movie someone is bound to make you look good. I would agree he had some decent to good movies, but I am not going to say Tin Cup was a good movie. I would rather watch golf on TV for four days straight than watch that movie again.

I think people put Costner on the level of other great actors and that is why my brother and I have always made fun of him because he is not even close to the top.

OK like I said we were just trying to have fun so you Kevin Costner Fan Club members can stop freaking out about him :)

Ok I guess nobody caught my joke so I'll explain it. The only part of Costner's role in The Big Chill that didn't land on the cutting floor was the scene at the beginning showing his cuff being buttoned. In other words, he was the corpse.

I will say that I thought he pulled off the part of Jim Garrison in JFK fairly well. Another movie where I thought his character seemed believable was Silverado.

Amen on Goodfellas.

Another thing is that we strive to be a fun, humorous, witty, sarcastic, even avant garde blog. This post was in that spirit and I think some took it too seriously. I still don't like Costner as an actor. He's no De Niro.

Hi Zach,
Sorry, my last parting words on Kevin Costner. I felt it appropriate to respond especially since you all were so gracious to welcome me into your
fantasy football space, after I came in rather
defensive (the Bush years have taken there toll on me…).

I admit it. I think Kevin Costner is very good looking
and would agree with the Annie character in “Bull Durham”
that "God you're gorgeous." With that said I still think he is a skilled
actor and unless I miss understood your LMAO comment about
"Tin Cup" you think he can act too.

Costner has had a solid career that has spanned over
20 years with many great performances, as I mentioned previously
(yes, I meant "Open Range" and not "Close Range").

Hard to believe Adam that you didn’t appreciate Costner’s performances in “Fandango” the "Upside of Anger, "No Way Out," or
"The War" to name a few.

For balance, I thought Costner’s performance was very stiff in "Wyatt Earp,"
I could take about 15 minutes of "3000 Mile to Graceland", same with "American Flyers” and his performance was lacking in “Robin Hood” and the “Postman.”
Other than that I find his other performances very engaging and he has been in a lot of fiims.

Hi DaveDallasFan,
I enjoyed your wife's analysis. Plus Costner has chemistry not just with the women, but the guys too, like with John C. Reilly in “For the Love of the Game.”
In "Message in the Bottle" that was one movie that definitely could have used the Hollywood ending. Btw, you sound like a delightful couple.

Overall, I find it funny that there is an emotional reaction to Costner, like here when some heard he is a Chief fan. That I don’t get?

Lastly, for those of your who have not seen “Tin Cup” and I don’t believe in golf courses they use up too much water, I would encourage you to watch that one
and “Fandango” and the “Upside of Anger.” All worth viewing. Women will enjoy them too. And of course, be sure to see “Swing Vote” when it gets released in August.

I am outta here…

Peace and social justice.

I guess we were just trying to have some fun... Didn't realize that Costner would get so many people angry :)

And yes your wife likes mostly cause of his looks and his appearance rather than his acting. If he was ugly then it sounds like she wouldn't be a fan.

Alright I am done writing about Costner, lol
