Jared Allen Hates Long Bus Rides
The biggest concern for Jared Allen when he faces his former team is the long bus ride.
“It’s like a three-hour bus ride, so that’s not going to be cool,” Allen said after Tuesday’s organized team activity at Winter Park.
Jared also had a few things to say about his former team.
Laughing, Allen added, “Everybody is a good guy over there. They have a bunch of young guys, so we’re going to put a whooping on them. … I don’t circle it or anything. Players over there and the coaching staff over there had nothing to do with the move. It worked out great for me, so I’m thankful for them letting me go because now look where I’m at.”
He definitely gave the young Chiefs players some locker room material. All I know is that the Vikings didn’t put a “whoopin” on us last season, training camp or regular season, and we were a 4-12 team. Jared’s last sentence here makes me think he was more about the money then most of us realize. “Now look where I’m at,” sounds like he is sitting on his millions having a good ole’ time.

Anyone else dying to see Brandon Albert pancake Jared Allen?
May 21st, 2008 at 2:30 pmI would love to see someone do it to him, but I have a feeling
A. He won’t play much because he is now the 2nd highest paid defensive player in the NFL (He wasn’t #1 for very long)
or
B. He has something in store for Mr. Peterson
May 21st, 2008 at 2:45 pmIt would be poetic justice if the Vikings and Chiefs met a couple of years down the line in the Super Bowl. It seems we met the Vikes last time we were in the Super Bowl and I know for a fact who got an ass whuppin’ that time. It was the Vikings.
I am not a Viking lover at all. Any time the Chiefs can hand the Vikings their ass on a platter it is a good thing. There has always been a little bad blood between the Vikings and the Chiefs and that is just fine with me. Now that Mr. Money Bags is in crazy assed Yankee land it will be a double pleasure to see the Chiefs knock them on their ass.
May 21st, 2008 at 4:00 pmJared won’t play much. Hopefully he gets some playing time and has trouble getting into the backfield. Better yet, it would be really cool to see Tambi go wild on the left side and have a sack or two more than Jared.
May 21st, 2008 at 4:04 pmJared Allen can go to f@#king Hell!!!!!
May 21st, 2008 at 4:22 pmhopefully the vikes spent so much on jared that they cant afford a team plane anymore and he has to ride the bus EVERYWHERE LOL
May 21st, 2008 at 4:47 pmZach – who passed Allen? I missed it…
May 21st, 2008 at 5:04 pmI believe it was Terrell Suggs….
May 21st, 2008 at 7:20 pmExcuse me he decided to sign the franchise offer. So mayb e Jared still is John.
May 21st, 2008 at 7:21 pmKiss my ass Minnesota!
May 22nd, 2008 at 10:25 amsadly jarred allen will get the best of branden!
May 23rd, 2008 at 9:28 amCan’t blame the guy for showing support for his new team, and loving his new-found money. If I had millions of dollars worth of contract, I’d be so giddy I’d probably wet myself. I understand the hatred for Jared but he’s still a good player, especially for the round he was taken in, and the role we took him to fill –long-snapper–. He’s a good guy, but I seriously hope he pulls his hammy chasing Donald Driver or gets his ACL torn by a John Tait pancake. How anti-climactic would that be? A former Chief taking out a former Chief. But other than the injury, I wish the dude good luck. Just not against the red and gold baby.
May 23rd, 2008 at 4:05 pmI’m glad for the trade…we, the chiefs got a whole lot better because of it. I don’t think jared dislike the players or the coaches in kc…we all know where the problem lies. Now can we get the frickin players signed? That is our next freakin hurdle. Player money is upside down but that is the nature of the game and I hope to hell somebody lights a fire under C### Peterson this year for sure. We have a chance to get better and it won’t happen if we can’t get the damn paper work done.
May 23rd, 2008 at 4:59 pmAnyone else heard the rumors that the Raiders wanna pick up Jason Taylor? I pray that they do. They’ll be decent for a couple years until they realize they really F’d themselves by signing away all their cap money to a handful of players, just like my Titans did back in the day. I doubt it will happen though; Jason is like Tony G… A badass, but wants to be on a contender instead of a rebuilding team, Oakland isn’t exactly a contender coming off the two seasons they’ve had.
May 23rd, 2008 at 5:33 pmAs much as Jared Allen’s departure depresses me sometimes, I’m excited to watch him in Minnesota. I think his skills can be of more use there. What good is a sack leader to a 4-12 team?
