So... I just watched this video, and other videos on youtube, and I'm just going to say it again. This dude might have the best balance I've ever seen. It does hurt to watch the clips with him against Mizzou though.

Can Charles be a return guy?

Anybody think to consider the Chiefs might be looking to line Charles up in the slot or on the opposite side from Bowe - at least part of the time? He certainly has the speed and hands to do the gig.

Im not so high on this pick but probably because im so in love with mike hart and think its utterly ridiculous that he fell to the 6th. That being said, the colts will get better, also though this kid at RB ive seen him limitedly throughout the year and he had some flash and potential i think theres no doubt hes going to be LJs backup, i think its an ok pick but i question whether we could have got someone to fill a bigger hole

I said on the live chat that McFadden needs a new nickname now that he's a Raider. I have to say I like the sound of Darren McFumble.

I don't envy opposing defenses (if the line is much better, which it should be) dealing with L.J. and then having this guy come off the bench and burning you for the home run. I know we need O-Line, but you can't draft world class speed any later than this. Great value pick

Addressing a misleading issue. Did anyone check to see how many fumbles Jamaal Charles had last year, 5, 5 fumbles. Do anyone realizes that Darren McFadden lead the nation in fumbles. Charles was given this misleading title because of a fumble in the Oklahoma game. A fumble that Texas great Earl Campbell said that he would have lost that one also. The fact of the matter is that the kid had 5 fumbles, but why let the FACTS get in the way of MISLEADING INFORMATION. The "thelandryhat" do a google search on "Darren McFadded Fumbles" and you see that he lead the nation in fumbles. Jamaal Charles is a great selection for the Chiefs and will do the city proud. Remember 5 fumbles and for good measures a 10.13 hundred yard dash, how could that NOT help the team. Overall this is a great draft for the Chiefs, don't rain on the parade.

Manningham was out of shape for workouts, lied to teams about his drug use, and had a really poor combine. That said as a fourth round pick, might be worth it just due to his production. Can he or Jamal Charles return kicks?

I think its likely with the S pick, that Greg Wesley will be cut and he'll play Wesley's role on D for the first season, unless he just takes off and takes a starting position from Page or Pollard. I wouldn't put it past Herm, he loves competition.

what about mario manningham? hes still sitting there...

Good points made, I didn't follow Cottam much, if they weren't throwing to him then he can't get the stats that way. I've just seen that his blocking is good but not great. Either way, he's likely better than Michael Allen as a blocker.

so it seems to me that maybe page isnt out guy then... or maybe just more competition in the secondary..

Good pick. As for the TE, I don't quite get it with Craig Stevens there. If you're going to draft a TE, why not get one who's already developed as a Run Blocker. They must see a lot of potential in him. Safety also seems like an odd choice, but he has played corner, maybe they think they plan on using him as a nickel and backup safety, but I would have preferred a WO, or DE.

Well, I don't think everybody is as sold on Jarrad Page as most fans are, Bartle. And I think Cottom will be a starter, a la Jason Dunn. The kid can block and will be our second TE, playing a significant number of reps. Charles will be our third-down back. So, in a way, both will be starters. Now with Morgan, that's a different story.

And if we passed on Doucet after taking two LSU guys what does that say about him? What does it say about Darling? Let's read between the lines.

Brad Cottam was one of my Draft Apples for today. I am pumped about that pick. All we have is Tony G and a seventh rounder on the roster right now, and Cottom can really block. You heard Kiper--if he had of got more passes thrown at him he would have been a first-round guy. If Tony G gets hurt he steps in, and Chan will go double tight some for sure. More on Cottam to come...

I'm wondering what happened to getting starters. None of the 3 3rd round picks were immediate starters. Very strange change in draft strategy.

we could have had doucet in the 3rd round to pair up with Bowe and Dorsey from LSU...and they take Brad Cottam. I would compare that to putting my name in as a write-in for President instead of selecting one of the nominated candidates.
