Personally I could see 2-5 looking like this:

2. Chris Long-St. Louis
3. Matt Ryan-Atlanta
4. Glenn Dorsey-Oakland (Don't really think they need him at this point.)
5. Darren McFadden-Dallas (Jerry trades us his two 1's because he IS IN LOVE with Run DMC!)

We then get OT, DE and CB with our 3 round 1 picks! In that order.

Sorry guys. I just don't see Chris Long making it to #5. If he makes it past #2 St. Louis, I will be shocked. They need an athlete like Chris on their D-line worse than we need O-lineman! I can see us getting either Dorsey, Gholston or maybe even (God Help us!) Ryan. I am not convinced he is what we need. I have to agree with Chan, Herm and Carl and Bill that Brodie, if given the line that Trent had his last full year as a starter, will be a stud at QB. I would rather either trade down or get D-line help or maybe even CB help at #5 than to draft Ryan. Give Brodie a line and see if he can do something. If not, then I think Thigpen might step up to the plate. The issue is we need a line to protect whomever we put back there and like many have said, I don't think Tom Brady could handle playing QB on our team with the state of our line. Thoughts?

Here's a list of guys who've had seasons as bad as shit ball, I believe you called him, and remember, he's only in his first year as a starter.

Passer rating isn't everything by any means, but I think its a good indicator of whether a guy helps his team or hurts it, Brodie's was 69.9

Matt Hasselbeck 1st year 70.9
Peyton Manning 1st year 71.2 Rating
Brett Farve 3rd and 15th year 72.2 and 70.9 Rating
Donovan McNabb 1st year 60.1 Rating
And the most fun of all...
Eli Manning 1st year 55.4 and the Super Bowl winning season 73.9

So, if Brodie can up his passer rating a mere 4 points this season, he could be considered by many to be the next Eli Manning!!! Maybe even a Super Bowl Contender.

Obviously Manning played much better in the playoffs and near the end of the season, but thats with three full years starting under his belt. Croyle hasn't done anything yet, but all the guys who decided Manning, Manning, Hasselbeck, Farve, and McNabb were "shitballs" are probably pretty happy their teams gave them a second shot.

Adam, if Ryan is the next Eli, Payton, Brady, as you are so boldy suggesting, any team that needs a QB should be all over him, no matter the cost. Besides, Miami didn't get a discount with Jake Long over Russel. Long's deal was 30 million guaranteed over 5 years, Russel was 31 or 32 mil guaranteed over 6. Your logic doesn't add up. You are now like the Chiefs of 2002 drafting Ryan Sims. There are question marks, and teams have passed him by, but you want him because you've been able to talk yourself out of the questions. Most everyone on this site is saying no, for various reasons, but your completely sold. We've all given you reasons, the most compelling in my mind is that he will be ruined like David Carr if we don't address the O-line first. He may be worth a high pick to a team like Atlanta who desperately needs a new face, or Baltimore who is a decent team with nothing at QB, but for the Chiefs with so many holes, he is a luxury pick, and with all our holes we don't get luxury picks. We have a QB who the chiefs (you know, the guys who have actually been coaching him) believe can do the job. So give him a year and worse case scenario, we get the best QB in next years draft.

But if Im Herm, I'd hold off on ther potential trade up til I see what St.Louis does at 2. If they grab Long then we should pick up the phone and hit up ATL for the 3 spot. If they take Dorsey, then we sit at 5 and have a few options.

Macdawg, you got a point there. . . and the ONLY reason why I'd wanna move up to 3rd is cause I DONT want us to simply SETTLE on "whichever guy is left." I want to draft either Glenn Dorsey or Chris Long, damnit!! We just let go of 1 of the best DEs in the league. We HAVE to get 1 of the best D linemen in the draft, and Im NOT refering to Gholston or Ellis.

I'd like Chris Long, Vern G, or G Dorsey at #5, at #17 tackle Williams, Otah, or Clady.

http://www.nfl.com/videos?videoId=09000d5d807eea7e

I agree with this nfl.com video saying you don't want to get too young too quick either, be good to bundle 2 7 rounders for a 5th rounder, and or 2 5th's and a 6th and go up to 3rd.

With 6 picks between rounds 5-7 I am really, really starting to wonder how many of those guys we will end up cutting!

Adam - It looks like you are getting some heartburn.

Don't worry - I think we all are stressing out on if they are going to draft who we want.

Please o please just don't reach Chiefs.
