April 18th, 2008 at 11:42 pmThanks for the draft picks, Jared! Don’t kid yourself, you’re the one making this happen as much as King Carl!! We’ll miss your pass rush for about, ummm… 1 year.
April 19th, 2008 at 2:00 amAnd I puked in my mouth a little too! Purple is so gay!
First - a little ranting. Whatever happens with Jaren Allen, we are seeing one more example of a lack of effectiveness of Carl Peterson. He doesn’t know how to make a player feel wanted. He can only be economically focused, and the team suffers for this. He forces our players to only think economically. We don’t seem to be able to offer any other benefits to them. We lose a very talented player that we will have trouble replacing - potentially for a few years (remember John Tait?)
Carl’s hand has been forced and a trade is happening that he doesn’t have the proper level of control over. Do the chiefs really want this trade to happen? If it were just their choice, you have to think no.
Remember the mess with Trent Green last year? Once Trent decided on a team, we had trouble getting an edge in negotiating with Miami. Minnesota (or Tampa Bay) now knows a trade has to happen before the draft. This takes a huge bargaining chip from Carl. Yes, we can perhaps play Tampa against Minesota, but Jared has some control over this also - he has to be happy with the team he is going to. The odds are lower that we get what Jared’s really worth.
Given that its going to happen, I hope we get all draft picks(unless we get a usable offensive lineman). It seems like this is a very deep draft. Its going to take us a few years for the team to be ready to compete, so any player older than Jared would be a waste.
April 19th, 2008 at 6:25 amI think LongtimeChiefFan is right, Carl ONLY thinks economically. How cheap can he get this player or how much can he get this one for?
April 19th, 2008 at 7:49 amHow about making a difference maker feel welcome here for a change?! Maybe he could shake things up and try to keep the pro-bowl/ super star players here and put out a product that we as loyal fan can stand behind instead of running them off in disgust of his “briliant” negotiation skills.
Not that I think Jared isn’t part of the problem too. He screwed up in a big way, and after only one season expected the Chiefs organization to pay him like Dwight. I don’t blame him for wanting to get paid, but you can’t tell me he hasn’t been playing both sides for his payday.
Carl is not the problem here on the Jared Allen Issue! Jared and his small time Agent want big money. We have a lot of needs and are not going to risk giving him all that money for upcoming problems, suspensions, and most importantly, him “tanking” after the pay day….i.e. Dwight Freeney.
He played awesome this year for a Contract! He knew it and we knew it. Will he still play with his high motor when he gets paid? Let someone else find out, take the picks and rebuild! He won’t sign with us anyway, so we will lose him eventually and receive nothing in return al la Michael Turner from SD.
April 19th, 2008 at 9:10 amSo who’s the star player Going to be In K.C. this season??? You know L.j. already peaked….Herm Edwards maybe???? maybe he can take the snaps…ahahhahahaha
April 19th, 2008 at 10:32 amL.J. has not peaked, buddy. If anyone has peaked it’s A.D. Watching him in college as Big 12 fans we know how brittle he is–SNAP! Was that a collarbone or a broken leg?
April 19th, 2008 at 10:46 amjared going anywhere to visit does not take ANY LEVERAGE from us we hold all the chips. we DONT have to trade him we could concievably franchise him for as long as we want(might be the best for us in the long run) and we already talked about all this. sorry to get on that again. also i know its not the best move but i cant see just giving in to someone elses demands like i said we’re in charge here
April 19th, 2008 at 11:24 amWhy do we let morons from different forums come on here and talk all that jive?? Stupid. “LJ already peaked” !! Hhahaha! Ok! We’ll see about that one. . . . . Didnt…. we…. BEAT… The Vi-Queens last season?? And LOOK AT HOW HORRIBLE WE WERE!! Sucker…. Anyway, You know, as much as we would have loved for things to work out with Jared here in KC, it really wouldnt have mattered much. He wouldve left anyway, leaving us with nothing more than a good 2007 season, a few semi-funny interviews, and a longer mullet. Good riddance. I hope he adapts to the blistering fucking cold in stupid ass Minnesota…fast.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:30 amFunny thing… Last night I got home and was a little on the buzzed side… And decided to make a picture similar to this situation… Instead, its Chris Long wearing a Chiefs uniform… #69 at that. Hahaha!
April 19th, 2008 at 11:31 amWow!!!! 4 Wins in the Afc Worst…I mean.. West…Congrats!!
April 19th, 2008 at 2:05 pmlisten up cock..i thing you came to the wrong place to talk shit..how bout those viqueens..i mean wow..they beat us last yr huh..wait..wait..NO..that was one of our 4 wins
April 19th, 2008 at 2:08 pmsorry..think
April 19th, 2008 at 2:08 pmBoy….you’ve got nothing going for your team this upcoming season….it’s understandable you wanna hang on to the very few good things that happend last year….Oh yeah, it was a shit game for both teams. nothing i’d be proud of. I don’t even think Lj broke the twenty yard mark that game…
April 19th, 2008 at 2:12 pmJason:
Finally, someone put his finger on the crux of the matter–the Chiefs are in control. I don’t know what they want to happen; for all I know they just may be letting other teams do their Allen negotiating for them and hope to keep him if the “price is right”. Or, they may have a youth/draft strategy for maximizing their readiness for several years from now when the Chargers start encountering problems keeping their team together or from getting old (and when Allen would be 29 not 26). I really like #69; he helped coach my son’s club football team several years ago–he didn’t have to take time to do that. He was a great inspiration to the kids. But as a long time season tickets holder, I mainly want whatever is best for the Chiefs and us fans, and not just for the next couple of years. I do hope that whatever is best for the Chiefs is also best for Allen. Knowing what is best is “above my pay grade”–if trade, we’ll know in a few years whether it turns out to be a shrewd and gutsy move or the height of stupidty. If stupidity, at least we’ll be able to upgrade our seats again, as we were able to do quite a bit this year.
April 19th, 2008 at 3:53 pmJ.D., neither team made the playoffs and we beat you, so I’m pretty sure you have no space to talk smack. The smack was unprompted as well. Anyways, go have fun doing meth with the rest of your toothless Vikings fan buddies.
April 19th, 2008 at 4:30 pmJohn,
April 19th, 2008 at 4:43 pmcould you go to the last strand and let jon know that? that guys delusional. I too like jared but if this is whats best for the CHIEFS then im all for it. see we’re all supposed to be chiefs fans, with that comes a certain amount of loyalty to your team(at least thats how i feel) and when someone blatantly does not want to be there then let them go. i know that jared says he loves kc, well maybe he doesnt maybe he wants that sports bar to succeed even if hes gone. dont think it would do too well if he said he hated kc and the fans.
Ah! Hahaha! And the funny part is, they blow up Arian Peterson as the “Purple Jesus” and yet caused NO MIRACLES in Arrowhead…. Thats straight blasphemy! Suck on that J.D. And by the way, you better be praying to God… OR your so called “Purple Jesus”, that they dont take your precious team and ship their asses over here to a real city (Los Angeles!) so we’ll see a purple and gold connection with the Lakers… And it’ll be A LOT easier to drive to watch OUR CHIEFS shit on you again. Whether its by 50 points or 1 point. It dont matter… Now as much as I’d love to stay and annihilate you J.D. with words… I gotta go play football with friends (with #27 on my chest!)… Plus, J.D.’s probably gettin’ off to the picture of Jared above…. Peace AA. GO CHIEFS!
April 19th, 2008 at 4:48 pmSeriously, the Vikings probably missed the playoffs because they lost to a 4-12 team and their fans come here to talk shit. Whooped that ass in training camp and the regular season. Its a hard pill to swallow, uh Vikes?
Go talk shit to Lions fans…
April 19th, 2008 at 6:03 pmYou’ve got no offense…Your about to lose your Defense…..Good luck!!!!!! Chumps…. Damn, Jarred allen does look good in Purple…
April 19th, 2008 at 6:27 pmDang… Game ended early (mercy rule) and here I find J.D. talking about “how good Jared looks in purple”… Hhahaha! I KNEW he was gettin’ all hot and heavy with himself over that picture… Youre welcome J.D. Now you can set this picture as your background and you dont have to be using up grandma’s phone line on your dial up connection, while you feel yourself up…. Plus, Jared looks like a Backstreet Boys reject with purple and that head band… And J.D., dont worry about our Offense. We had an excuse as to why we missed the playoffs. Whats yours? You had 2 feature RBs, a hell of an O Line, Tony Richardson, and a great defense and yet STILL couldnt do shit… Our D will be just fine without Jared Allen, we’ll pick up either Chris Long, V.Gholston, or Glenn Dorsey and then we’ll see who’s talking. Larry Johnson will be back, and if you thought he had a chip on his shoulder when he 1st became starter… you havent seen nothin’ yet. Lets not forget who this guy is… and if you DID forget… You’ll SOON be reminded. So, choke on that Telletubbie lover.
April 19th, 2008 at 6:57 pmGO ROC27
April 19th, 2008 at 7:08 pmYou know you LOVED Jarred allen untill about..2 days ago. Now your mad Cause your defense is leaving. don’t worry, you all still have………….Fuck, nevermind you all don’t have shit on Defense…..
April 19th, 2008 at 7:22 pmRoc27
I think i’m stoked everytime you post something. Keep it up. And fuck off J.D. You’re making yourself look like a punk.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:10 pmYou know, J.D. For once in this conversation, youre right… I DID love Jared Allen until 2 days ago…. Why? Because the bastard just turned his back on the organization that gave him his shot in the National Football League and the fans who embraced him like he was a fucking resurrected Derrick Thomas… And THIS is what he’s giving back to us?? Whatever. And J.D. you shouldnt really be talkin’ so much shit, bro. As much as I cant stand him, if it wasnt for Carl Peterson, you guys wouldnt even have had this opportunity to grab Jared Allen. Peterson COULD HAVE placed the EXCLUSIVE Franchise tag on Allen. Therefore, he wouldnt have even been able to STEP into another teams building, let alone the ViQueen’s. And THATS why I no longer have love for the guy… And if you think that Jared is ALL WE HAVE on D… then apparently you dont know shit about football. Cause you’d know that Donnie Edwards, Derrick Johnson, and Nap Harris ALL put up over 100 tackles last season and Benard Pollard came close with 91 tackles. You would know that Tamba Hali came up with 7.5 sacks in 2007, which is more than half of the DE’s in the league. You would know that our Defense was among the Top 5 in TD’s allowed. Including keeping your grimey ass Vikings limited to 1 touchdown. You would know that in our team total we came up 37 sacks for a loss of over 2 entire football fields (252 yards),also had 14 interceptions and 15 forced fumbles (thats almost a fumble every game)… You would know all this…. or would you?? … I didnt think so. J.D. DONT come in here talking all that shit, because if its not me, one of us here at Arrowhead Addict will back your ass down…. Just the way did…. YA’ DIIGGGG!!??
April 19th, 2008 at 8:11 pmOH! And another stat that I’M VERY proud of… Derrick Johnson had more takcles in the back field than ANY OTHER PLAYER in the ENTIRE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE!!! ….. THAT’S D!!!
April 19th, 2008 at 8:12 pmDoes anyone else think its kinda funny here that with all the homosexual slurs Ive made directed toward J.D. and his infatuation with Jared Allen….. the guy hasnt denied one?? Hmmmm, makes me wonder…. Purple? Doesnt that color represent….. Nevermind.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:19 pmWell, boys… Im on my way to San Diego with the Mrs… which is 2 hours away from where I live. So I wont be commenting for a while… BUT let me leave on a couple notes… (IF I didnt ALREADY run you outta here) J.D. you shouldve came in here with a whole different approach. You shouldve came in here and showed some fucking respect. Bowed down and payed homage to us for giving you Jared Allen… Cause thats all this is… We’re GIVING you Jared Allen. Youre NOT TAKING him from us. Cause I’ll tell you one thing… if we wouldve put the Exclusive Franchise Tag on Jared and didnt re-sign him, there would have been a hell of a lot more teams that would have dove at the opportunity and probably teams with WAY better chances at getting it done than the Purple penis Eaters. Also, you better hope that Philli doesnt get in on this trade talk, cause I think we’ll easily take them up on their 1st round pick, Lito Sheppard, and possibly another draft pick. Then you can exchange that purple for green…cause THATS what Jared is all about, right fellas? “Green”… But, oh J.D. you failed. You cam in here and ranted about our Defense. Whaatt?? I DEFENSE?? You COULD have came here and talked shit about our Offense, about how LJ’s not an iron man because of his injury, or about our O-Line, or Carl Peterson… Chirst, you couldve even went off about how Damon Huard looks like Chandler Bing from Friends. I dont give a shit. But dont come in here and go off over shit you dont know about. That being our Defense, something that we pride ourselves on. The New Age Chicago Bears. Ya’diig?… Except we aint the Bears… We are the Chiefs! Dont let last season fool you. Cause you’ll be in for a suprise. .. AA Representative.
April 19th, 2008 at 8:56 pmCAN I GET AN AMEN BROTHERS…LOL…ROC..U R MY HERO..LOL..
April 19th, 2008 at 10:08 pmCSMQB, like I said, if it wasnt me it’d be you or Adam, or Zach. . . Etc Etc. . . But Im glad to represent.
April 19th, 2008 at 11:46 pmROC27 glad to see you sticking up for AA. We love you and I love picking on Vikings fans. Can’t talk shit when you lose to us…
April 20th, 2008 at 12:06 amFo sho, boys. . . Had to do it. We all have our shots to stand up for AA and our Chiefs, and today, I saw fit for me to handle that idiot.
April 20th, 2008 at 1:21 amPurple Jared + Purple Jesus = Silver Super Bowl Trophy
By the way, it’s starting to look like there will be no trade. The Vikes will wait until after the draft and sign Allen to an offer sheet that includes a poison pill.
April 20th, 2008 at 8:29 amfuck it i say if they offer after the draft we match NO MATTER WHAT
April 20th, 2008 at 10:11 amBrian Waters went on Jim Rome and said he’s frustrated with this organization too. Maybe we should trade him too. Actually, any player on the Chiefs that’s disgruntled, we should cut them too.
This negotiation has gotten personal. Maybe the fault of both sides, but this is not new territory for Carl. Gonzalez and LJ both also expressed frustration with their negotiations and both negotiations were labeled as “bitter.” I truly believe they need to remove Carl from the negotiation and see if we can get a deal with Allen done without Carl in the room. If Clark Hunt is unable to get a deal done with Allen, then I’d be willing to suggest that maybe Allen is being too stubborn.
But as of now, it sounds as if this deal isn’t getting done because Allen and Peterson despise each other. As longtimechieffan said… Peterson drives an extremely hardline and he’s not afraid to resort to extreme tactics to drive the asking price down. We don’t have any idea what’s going on in the negotiation… but you’d have to think that something Peterson did in the negotiation struck a nerve with Allen.
April 20th, 2008 at 11:21 amI think everyone agrees with that. They know Carl is shrewd and only looks at the business side.
This should be Carl’s last year as GM. If he wants to take another position great, but when we cant resign our own guys and we can’t get FAs we want to visit their is a problem!
April 20th, 2008 at 11:24 amcmon jon..i feel like eminem on 8 mile..you keep sayin the same shit..over and over..we know how to read and we read it yesterday..if we didnt comment on it..maybe it because we didnt want to..that doesnt mean write it again…we have agreed..carl peterson is a fuckin schmuck…he knows shit about keepin players happy..great..we are all on the same page
April 20th, 2008 at 11:40 amzach, I absolutely agree and I can’t help but wonder if that’s why the Chiefs have never been able to land the “big fish” in free agency. And I can’t help but wonder if this is largely the reason why Faine and Josh Brown didn’t visit KC or didn’t even entertain the thought of paying a visit, even though we clearly expressed interest.
Apart from the long line of disgruntled Chiefs over the past 2 years, I’m surprised there are so many discounting the possibility that Carl has been a complete snake in this negotiation and maybe that’s what set Allen off. As Nick Athan wrote in his most recent Warpaint column, the only reason the negotiation is stalling is because Allen and Peterson aren’t getting along.
What snakish lengths will Peterson go to win a negotiation? How about leaking a story about a fake spinal cord injury to drive the price down in a negotiation. Need we forget that we had Samari Rolle all but signed until Peterson went as low as to leak that story.
Again… I was not in the negotiation room. I do not know what was said or done. But I would not put it past Peterson that maybe he pulled some sort of negotiation tactic like that and it set Allen off.
April 20th, 2008 at 11:40 amCSMQB, pretty convenient that you hate hearing me repeat arguments because you disagree with me.
yeah, we get it too. Jared doesn’t want to stay in KC. Jared is an “at risk” player and dug his own grave. Blah blah blah.
April 20th, 2008 at 11:43 amThis after-the-draft-poison-pill strategy isn’t going to work. Not with the Bucs and Pats interested. Sorry, Dan, but the Vikes are going to end up standing out in the cold on this one if they roll with that strat. It’s OK–you all are used to the cold up there. I guess we’ll see. Personally, I would probably be OK with two firsts. The Vikes aren’t going to the Super Bowl any time soon with Tarvaris Jackson, and I’m patient.
April 20th, 2008 at 11:54 amWOW..I AM FUCKIN SAYIN THE SAME SHIT YOU ARE..IM JUST NOT SAYIN IT OVER AND OVER..I BLAME BOT..READ MY LAST FUCKIN POST YOU ILLITERATE FUCK
April 20th, 2008 at 11:58 amI BLAME BOTH SORRY..READ IT..AND TELL ME WHAT IT SAYS….THE SAME FUCKIN THING YOU JUST WROTE 5 TIMES
April 20th, 2008 at 11:59 amIM SORRY..should calm down..im just tryin to tell you..we both have pretty much the same view on this..i dont disagree with you…i just want you to quit sayin the same things over and over..we are all here to speak our opinions..nobody is right..nobody is wrong…
April 20th, 2008 at 12:16 pmyou keep sayin i dont agree with you but we have said pretty much the same thing..so.lets end it at that
April 20th, 2008 at 12:17 pmKeep it civil, fellas
Remember, we save the harsh stuff for disorderlies from other teams and sites, and turncoats.
April 20th, 2008 at 12:23 pmi am tryin..he acts like im carl or im defending carl..i have nothing but discontent for peterson..i wanna see him gone..ive said this all before and he doesnt seem to get it
April 20th, 2008 at 12:31 pmAdam:
To change the tone a bit, actually I would prefer the Vikes #17 and #43 this year to their #17 this year and their unknown Round 1 pick in 2009. Due to Pats R1 forfeit this year, #43 is equivalent to the the 11th pick in R2. If you accept that a “bird in the hand” this year is one round more valuable than the same pick next year, then the Vikes would have to be giving up the equivalent of pick #11 in next year’s Round 1; possible but not likely since they are picking #17 this year and would have the benefit of Allen next year. Also, you have to believe next year’s draft will be as strong as this year’s, again possible but not likely. My first choice would be to work out a long term contract with Allen. If this is not possible, then take the Vike’s #17 and #43 this year and RELOAD with at least 12 picks (maybe more with trades down)in this year’s strong/deep draft!
April 20th, 2008 at 4:40 pmright there with ya john
April 20th, 2008 at 4:46 pmCORRECTION:
My Bad! Vikes’ 2nd rd. pick this year is #47, not #43, which would be equivalent to a R1 #15 pick in 2009. Believe the conclusion still holds, even if the numbers area little less strong.
April 20th, 2008 at 8:41 pm
