Another Reason To Hate Samie Parker

AUTHOR: Blog Z | IN: Chiefs | COMMENTS: 11 Comments |

Broncos (KCChiefs.com)I couldn’t have asked for a better place for Samie Parker to land in free agency–Denver. Thats right Chiefs fans, Parker is on the verge of signing a contract with the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos are close to signing former Kansas City Chiefs receiver Samie Parker and are deep in discussions with Darrell Jackson, the former No. 1 pass-catching threat for the Seattle Seahawks and San Francisco 49ers, according to multiple NFL sources.

Parker, 27, was the Chiefs’ No. 2 receiver in 2005-06, averaging 38.5 catches and 547 yards. He and the Broncos could finalize an agreement today.

I think most Chiefs fans have a slight hatred for Samie, and this will just add fuel to the fire. Not only do we now get to boo him because he sucked in Kansas City, but know we might get to because he is a Donkey. I couldn’t ask for anything better than this except if he became a Raider, which would be equally great.

(Since we are on the subject of Parker, I wanted to bring one thing up that I haven’t had the opportunity to talk to other Chiefs fans about. How much did you hate where he pierced the tragus part of his ears? I knew the guy was a tool when I saw that he had both pierced with diamond studs.)

  1. Kyle says:

Don’t worry, as a Broncos fan, if he signed with Denver, I’d hate him too.

  2. Double D says:

    What’s a tragus?

  3. CWebb says:

    What’s a Samie?

    /Just kidding, I know.
//He’s the ball boy who could never make it, right?
    ///One man’s trash = Broncos’ treasure?

  4. r8rh8r says:

It’s not like he pulled an Eddie Kennison, you guys dumped him. What’s to hate? Don’t worry, he’ll be long gone by August.

  5. Zach says:

Its the part of the ear that protects the ear canal. So it is on the outside of the ear.

    or

The tragus is a small pointed eminence of the external ear, situated in front of the concha, and projecting backward over the meatus. Its name comes from the Greek: tragos, goat, and is descriptive of its general covering on its under surface with a tuft of hair, resembling a goat’s beard.

  6. Parker was mediocre at best. He would come up with a few clutch cathces but not much. He is a Vermiel Guy! I did not care for him, but I wish him the best.

  7. Crane says:

What is it with Denver signing all of our players?
That ass whoopin we handed out to them last Thanksgiving on the NFL network must have given them pause. Screw em, they haven’t made the playoffs in the last two years anyway.

  8. MasterBlaster says:

Can we give them Webb too?

  9. Zach says:

Siavii, Kris Wilson, Kyle Turley, Chris Terry, John Welbourn….LOL

Too bad a few of those guys have teams cause I would love Shanahan to ruin his career with them too.

  10. Jon says:

Never did, never will understood the hatred for Samie Parker.

He was immature, but he’s grown up. He was a clutz with the ball but has become much more reliable with his hands. And in 2005, in the right system, he would’ve had potentially over 800 yards if he played a full season.

This is just a pure case of a guy who was miscast in the wrong system after a coaching change. He would’ve thrived in Vermeil’s system, in my opinion. And he’s never going to be a fit as a #2 receiver in Herm’s more west coast oriented offense.

If you put him in the slot or in a more Coryell offense, he can be a productive receiver. I wish him the best and apologize to him that he’s been a punching bag for really no good reason.

  11. Adam says:

I understand the hate–he was awful. Compounding his awfulness, was his bad attitude, timid playing style, piss-poor hands and insistence on celebrating after even the most routine of catches. After Ryan Sims and Kendrell Bell, well, and Eddie Drummond, too, the guy is probably my least favorite Chiefs of the decade. Good riddance, Uno Ocho. Bum!
