Guys, things really haven't slowed down much, it was just a weekend without news and we really wanted to focus on the forums. Some of you need to head on over there because some great discussion has kicked off about these very topics and more.

ROC:

You and I are on about the same page. I love the idea of taking Jake and a right tackle in round 2. This is a great crop of OT's and someone really good (like Baker) may slip into round 2. The only disagreement I have is that I think round 4 is to high to take a FB. I agree that it is a need, but I see it being filled later in the draft. In round 4, I see us looking at the best player in one of these postions: OG/C, CB (yes, again), WR, DT, LB.

In that case, I think we take Jake Long and celebrate.

Wow... Are we REALLY new deprived?? Or is everyone focused on this fan forum thingy majig? Whatever... Anyway, PVChiefsfan, We would most definitely take Jake Long. Considering the fact that We have at least 2 spots on the O-Line thneed to be filled by rookies or bench warmers already on the team... So there is NO way that we pass on Jake Long. He would be an automatic starter... and as SO MANY beg to differ (YOU know who YOU are), but its starting to look like we just MAY have a shot at Jake... Rams head coach just said that they're sticking with Orlando Pace at LT (J Long's natural position). Now that may be smoke, but they MAY look at revamping their D line with a solid pass rusher like Chris Long or Glenn Dorsey... I personally think that if we get Jake Long at 5 in the 1st, we still need to get an O-Lineman in the 2nd round, preferably Sam Baker. In the 3rd we should go CB and take LSU's Chevis Jackson. And in the 4th, we SHOULD go FB and take Owen Schmidt... Its no secret here that when we lost Willie Roaf, Will Shields, and Tony Richardson, things havent been the same... So who better than to take their place?? With an O-Line that looks like: LT Jake Long, LG Brian Waters, C Rudy Niswanger, RG Sam Baker, RT Damion McIntosh, and with and legit FB in Owen Schmidt, we could see #27 have a GINORMOUS year... Are you kidding me??

chuck:

It really depends on who is available when we pick. If Gholston is available, I can see the Pats wanting to trade up. If Ryan is available, Chicago might want to deal up to take him. I do think Ryan will go at #3 to ALT and McFadden at #4 to Oak. But, it is a very unsettled board. My best guess is that C. Long, Dorsey, Ryan and McFadden will be gone (in that order) by the time we pick. In that case, we are not looking to trade down. However, things may play out different, so we need to be prepared.

That doesn't mean stop commenting here either, it just means that we can further the discussion over there, plus we will get to all questions. The biggest thing is that readers will be able to get more involved by talking about the topics they want to.
